As May Draws to a Close: A Marian Pilgrimage of Prayer and Grace

As the beautiful month of May, dedicated to our Blessed Mother, draws to a close, our Marian pilgrimage last May 30, 2026 became a fitting expression of our love and devotion to Mary.

Our destination was the Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Agtalin Shrine in Pilar, a place of peace, prayer, and reflection overlooking God's magnificent creation. The journey itself became a pilgrimage of the heart as we entrusted ourselves to the maternal care of the Blessed Virgin.

Before reaching the shrine, we prayed together the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary, meditating on the Passion and suffering of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Mary's eyes, we reflected on Christ's sacrifice and His immeasurable love for humanity.

Upon arriving at the shrine, we offered flowers to Our Lady, gathered before her image and lovingly offered the Joyful Mysteries, the mystery assigned for the day. We contemplated the joyful events surrounding the Incarnation and early life of Jesus, giving thanks for God's countless blessings and for Mary's faithful "Yes" to His divine plan.

As we departed from the shrine and journeyed homeward, we completed our pilgrimage by praying the Luminous Mysteries, reflecting on Christ's public ministry and His revelation as the Light of the World.

Throughout the day, we experienced not only the beauty of the shrine and the breathtaking view from Agtalin Hill, but more importantly the grace that comes from praying together as one family of faith. Every decade of the Rosary became a step closer to Christ through the loving guidance of His Mother.

May this pilgrimage inspire us to continue praying the Rosary daily, to deepen our devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and to carry the fruits of this pilgrimage into our daily lives.

"To Jesus through Mary."

Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, pray for us.
Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us.

Held at St. John Paul II Parish – Banica, Roxas City, the key highlight of the celebration was the Donning of Sashes and Coronation of Reinas, each representing a distinct title of the Blessed Virgin Mary. These Reinas served as living symbols of Mary's virtues and her essential roles within the life of the Church.

The event continued with the Introduction of the Guest Speaker by Juliana Bea Gloria, followed by an inspiring message and the Proclamation of Reina Elena 2026 delivered by Rev. Fr. Dedert V. Duarte. The solemn Farewell Walk of Reina Elena 2025, Dr. Ruth C. Gervero, was a poignant moment of gratitude and honor.

The Grand Coronation of Reina Elena 2026, Her Majesty Ms. Yzarda Claudette D. Ballera, was then held, with the assistance of Rev. Msgr. Melencio B. Bartolo, PC.

The celebration continued with a heartfelt Binalaybay offering by Ms. AC Stefany Santa Ana, followed by the Crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary, solemnly led by our newly crowned Reina Elena. The program concluded with the community singing of “Salve Regina,” the Closing Remarks of Msgr. Bartolo, and the Final Blessing.

We express our sincerest gratitude to all organizers, sponsors, benefactors, parish leaders, and volunteers whose dedication and support made this Marian celebration a resounding success. May our Blessed Mother, Mary, continue to lead us in faith, charity, and unity.

Viva Santa Maria! Viva Reina Elena!
