Yesterday, the CAMASA-Capiz Chapter gathered for a heartfelt Kumustahan & 2025 Planning Meeting, beginning with a Thanksgiving Mass presided by Rev. Fr. Mark Q. Granflor. His homily reminded us to hold onto hope, faith, and integrity in our work, to give not out of excess but about understanding the struggles to have less, and to act now while we can.

The session "Beyond the First Job: Finding Meaning in Every Opportunity" with our Manang Divine inspired us to embrace life’s reroutes, keep our idealism and faith, and recognize that every job is a learning process, no matter how big or small.

For 2025, our main focus is fund sustainability—finding ways to contribute using our time, talent, and effort without overwhelming our already full schedules. We also committed to reconnecting with members who are “missing but not forgotten”, ensuring no one is left behind.

We know this won’t be easy as we juggle careers and responsibilities, but we hold on to the same spirit that once lifted us—service, leadership, and paying it forward.

To those who joined us—thank you. Your presence and commitment reignited the spirit of why CAMASA exists. And to those we haven’t reconnected with yet—we’re here, always ready to welcome you home. 💙

Naglabas ng P1.2 milyong piso ang social arm ng Archdiocese of Manila na paunang tulong para sa Bicol dioceses na lubhang nasalanta ng Bagyong Kristine.

Makakatanggap ng tig-P200,000 mula sa Caritas Manila ang anim na diyosesis sa Bicol Region kabilang ang Archdiocese of Caceres at Diocese of Libmanan sa Camarines Sur; Diocese of Virac, Catanduanes; Diocese of Daet, Camarines Norte; Diocese of Legazpi, Albay; at Diocese of Sorsogon.

Ayon kay Caritas Manila executive director, Fr. Anton CT. Pascual, nakatuon ang institusyon sa relief at rehabilitation upang agad na matugunan ang pangangailangan ng mga biktima ng bagyo tulad ng pagkain, tubig, at hygiene kits.

“Sa ngalan po ng Caritas Manila, tayo po ay tutulong muli sa mga nasalanta ng bagyong ito, lalung-lalo na sa Bicol Region… Ang ating pagsuporta, alam po naman natin ay relief at rehabilitation, ipagdasal natin na walang mamamatay at huwag matindi ang pinsala sa mga kababayan nating Bicolano,” ayon kay Fr. Pascual sa panayam sa programang Kalakbay ng Pamilya.

Panawagan ni Fr. Pascual ang patuloy na pagtutulungan ng bawat isa upang magsilbing tanglaw ng pag-asa ng mga biktima ng sakuna.

Ipinapanalangin din ni Fr. Pascual ang kaligtasan ng lahat at ang katatagan ng mga biktima ng sakuna upang muling makabangon mula sa pinagdaraanang pagsubok.

“Kaya't mahalaga na magdasal po tayo na huwag maging mapinsala ang mga bagyo lalo na ang epekto ng La Niña Phenomenon at malampasan natin nang ligtas. Gayunpaman, kapag may mga biktima naroon ang simbahan na unang nagdarasal at sumusuporta sa pamamagitan ng relief and rehabilitation,” ayon kay Fr. Pascual.

It's a NO MEAT FRIDAY! 😇

Today is the fourth Friday of Lent, a day of abstinence. Abstinence refers to refraining from eating meat on all Fridays of Lent. All Catholics who are 14 and older must practice this.

The law of abstinence prohibits eating the flesh, marrow, and blood products of mammals and fowls.

By abstaining from eating meat, we make a meaningful act of penance—not only to honor Christ's ultimate sacrifice but also to mirror it. We refrain from consuming flesh every Friday as He gave up His own flesh for us on Good Friday.
