Never Lose Your Zeal

Romans 12:11 (NIV)

“Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.”

There are days when serving God feels exciting, and there are days when ministry feels heavy. Paul reminds us that our service to the Lord should not be driven by changing emotions but by a heart that remains devoted to Christ.

“Never be lacking in zeal.”
God calls us to serve with passion and diligence. Zeal is more than excitement—it is a steadfast commitment to God’s work. Even when we are tired or discouraged, we can choose to remain faithful because our calling comes from Him.

“Keep your spiritual fervor.”
Our spiritual fire doesn’t stay burning on its own. It is sustained through prayer, God’s Word, worship, and fellowship with Him. The closer we draw to Christ, the more our hearts are renewed to love and serve Him.

“Serving the Lord.”
This is the foundation of our ministry. We don’t serve for recognition, applause, or approval. We serve Jesus. When our focus is on Him, even the smallest act of obedience becomes an act of worship.

Today, ask yourself:

* Is my passion rooted in Christ or in my circumstances?
* What can I do today to keep my spiritual fire burning?

Prayer:
Lord, keep my heart passionate for You. Renew my spiritual fervor when I grow weary. Help me to serve with humility, faithfulness, and joy, remembering that everything I do is ultimately for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Trusting God’s Plan for Your Life

Key Verse: Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Devotion

There are seasons in life when God’s plan doesn’t make sense. Doors close, prayers seem unanswered, and the future feels uncertain. During these times, it’s easy to wonder if God has forgotten us. But Scripture reminds us that God is never surprised by our circumstances. He sees the beginning and the end, and His plans are always rooted in His love and wisdom.

Trusting God’s plan doesn’t mean we will always understand what He is doing. It means choosing to believe that His character is good even when His ways are beyond our understanding. Just as a child trusts a loving parent, we are invited to trust our Heavenly Father, knowing that He is working for our good and His glory.

Many of God’s servants experienced seasons of waiting. Joseph was sold into slavery before becoming a ruler. David was anointed king long before he wore the crown. Ruth experienced loss before God restored her. In each story, God was quietly fulfilling His purpose through circumstances that seemed confusing at the time.

If you’re facing uncertainty today, remember that delays are not necessarily denials. God is often preparing your heart while He prepares the answer. Your responsibility is not to control the outcome but to remain faithful, obedient, and dependent on Him.

God’s plan may not always be the easiest path, but it is always the best one.

Reflection Questions

1. What situation in your life is challenging you to trust God today?
2. Are you relying more on your own understanding or on God’s wisdom?
3. What step of faith is God asking you to take while you wait?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for knowing the plans You have for my life. Even when I cannot see the whole picture, help me trust that You are working for my good. Teach me to surrender my fears, my timeline, and my desires to You. Strengthen my faith to follow You with confidence, knowing that Your plans are higher and better than mine. Help me remain faithful in every season and find peace in Your perfect will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

John 14:18 (NIV)

“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”

Devotional Reflection

Jesus spoke these words to His disciples before His crucifixion. He knew they would soon face sorrow, uncertainty, and feelings of loss. Yet He gave them a powerful promise: they would not be abandoned.

The word “orphans” speaks of being left alone, without comfort, guidance, or protection. Jesus assures His followers that even when they cannot see Him physically, His presence remains with them through the Holy Spirit.

When grief, loneliness, or heartbreak weighs heavily on your heart, this verse reminds you that Christ has not left you to carry it alone. His presence is not limited by circumstances. He is near, even in the quiet moments when you miss someone deeply.

Key Words

* Presence – Jesus is with us.
* Comfort – We are not abandoned.
* Hope – God’s love remains constant.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your promise that You will not leave me as an orphan. In moments when I feel lonely or overwhelmed, remind me that You are near. Fill my heart with Your comfort, peace, and hope. Help me rest in Your presence today. Amen. 🙏💙
