GOD IS IN CUP-FILLING BUSINESS!

As a Diversional Therapy Assistant i used to care for a really grumpy old man who couldnt just be pleased. I found he was a bit of racist as he used to call me "pest" along with my asian collegues. He would greet me everyday and say "Oh hello pest, what are you up to today?"

I brought his attitude to the Lord in prayer and ask Lord why is he like that? Why is he a racist and rude? Is it just because some mums do have them? The Lord guided me to take my work professionally and to continue to do good to him and treat him right.

As i got to know him better i learned he has a lot of physical and emotional hurts in his life and being away from his family and children didnt help. And the Lord impressed these words in my heart, "You see son his cup is empty with good fruits that comes from my Spirit, why he cant say to you anything good, (he can only give you the bad stuff he has in his cup because of all the bad philosophy and hurts he had in life) but i want you to fill his cup with my goodness and grace."

I showed that man grace and just loved him and cared for him and honored him like a father. A few months passed by the tone of his voice and the way he spoke to me changed, he no longer called me "pest", he started to call me champ, and all i heard from him was praise. Before He died when he learned that i was resigning from work to start my own business, he even said to me, "John i really i dont want you to leave, but i dont want to be selfish to withold from you what is best for your family."

I reckon my friend's cup was made full with God's good fruits and it overflowed even to the people around him before he died.

I believe Jesus calls each of us His followers to be filled with His Holy Spirit to overflow with the fruits of love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control so people in a broken and barren world can benefit of it.

Glory to the name of Jesus who saves, heals, delivers, empowers and fills our lives with faith, hope, love and good purposes.
