Play and Pray Day with SLK
SLK 2nd Grand Club Day Meeting
The SLK Club held its 2nd Grand Club Day Meeting via MS Teams at 2:30 PM. The meeting began with a brief opening prayer that was presented to the members of the club.
An entertaining “Kumustahan” that the club president hosted by Lovely Joy Caesar was the club's first activity. The members rate themselves (1-10, 1 is the lowest, and ten is the highest) with questions: "How well did you do in the 4th Checkpoint Examination? Why?” and “How ready are you for the Second Semester?” Nicole Brianne Espedido, a club member, rated herself for the first question 8/10 because she still must find out her grades to know if she did well. Eulyses Alinsub, also a member of the club, rated himself for the second question -10/10 because he still must dance in P.E. A truly fun activity for the club.
The second activity was an amusing “Live Quiz Bee” hosted again by Lovely Joy Caesar, who explained the mechanics for her co-members. The quiz bee had topics about the club itself and Bible trivia. After the easy round (1 point per correct answer), Eulyses Alinsub and Eraizza Jen Bonifacio were in the lead with 2 points, followed by Diadre Al Ciudadano, who got 1 point. When the average round was done (3 points per correct answer), Eulyses Alinsub was in the lead with 8 points, followed by Rochelle Anne Gerarman, who got 3 points. After the difficult round (5 points per correct answer), Eulyses Alinsub and Rochelle Anne Gerarman, who both got 8 points in total, had a tiebreaker. Eulyses Alinsub won a 200 Php cash prize, followed by Rochelle Alinsub, who got a 100 Php cash prize as the second placer, proceeded by Diadre Al Ciudadano, who got 6 points.
When the quiz bee was done, Lovely Joy Caesar then announced an “Offline Quiz Bee” on the SLK Canvas Course at 5:00 – 6:00 PM PHT including the offline quiz bee’s mechanics.
The last activity of the club was a “Spiritual Reading” spearheaded by Bro. Johnrick Magana. He let everyone reflect on Timothy 4:6-8 for about a minute and then started an activity to further the students' understanding with their reflections. He asked the students to write their full names on paper using their left hand, which they do not usually do because they always use their right hand. He then asked them to write the names of their parents and write the full name of their school after. Subsequently, he asked them to write the nicknames or full names of 3 of their friends. Then asked them to write their ambitions or dreams. Lastly, he asked them to write everything they wrote using their right hand. After the activity, Bro. Johnrick asked them to reflect with the questions “What do you feel while doing the activity?” and “How is your approach on things that you wrote (individually)?” Rochelle Anne Gerarman answered that she is not used to writing with her left hand because she is used to writing using her right hand. She also said that she finds time to rest herself and do the things she loves with everyone she wrote in the paper.
Bro. Johnrick then explained the purpose of the activity. He said that all people have different approaches and perspectives with people, including our family members, friends, and many more, even though it hurts. It happens so that in God's will, we can be strong. He also said that we had faced many challenges, so why stop? He finished the "Spiritual Reading" by saying, "In order to achieve your goals, start the goal." and "Do not forget the Lord.” He then asked follow-up questions to the members in which Diadre Al Ciudadano won a 100 PHP load.
The meeting ended with a closing prayer led by Lovely Joy Caesar.
