Today is the feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. It honors the Virgin Mary as the protector and intercessor.

The brown scapular of Mt. Carmel is a symbol of a silent prayer, especially in times that we need the intercession of our Holy Mother. It is an external sign that help us, Catholics, to live a holy life.

Carmel is an invitation of prayer. Mother Mary encourages us to a deeper union with God in silence—in peace. Each time we pray, we enter the presence of God. In solitude, we ask, we cry, and we allow ourselves to listen to His voice.

As we commemorate Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, let us give ourselves time to pray. Talk to God in silence; Allow Him to communicate with you in solitude and peace.

📿 Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Today, we honor the Blessed Virgin Mary as the patroness of the Carmelite Order. It commemorates her apparition to St. Simon Stock in the 13th century, where she gave him the Brown Scapular as a sign of her protection and promise of salvation.

The feast reminds us of Mary’s powerful intercession and her call to live a life of prayer, humility, and devotion to Christ.
