The CCT Group of Ministries joins the nation in celebrating National Disaster Resilience Month.
The Executive Order No. 29 (2017) mandates the observance of National Disaster Resilience Month "throughout the country through the conduct of activities relative to building of disaster resilience covering the four thematic areas: prevention and mitigation, preparedness, response and rehabilitation and recovery."
Beyond disaster response and relief, CCT Group fosters resilience through wholistic, community-based, and family-focused interventions like household planning, contingency workshops, psychosocial support, and preparedness orientations. CCT Paglingap Foundation (formerly Visions of Hope Foundation, Inc.) champions the development of volunteers called community servant leaders (CSLs), equipping them to serve and cultivating the spirit of bayanihan in the communities.
As one of the world's most disaster-prone countries, the Philippines sits along the Pacific Ring of Fire and within the typhoon belt, averaging 20 tropical cyclones annually alongside earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and flash floods. While these natural hazards are inevitable, their impact can be mitigated through preparedness, collaboration, and proactive vigilance.
More than a resilient community, may the Lord continue to build us into a nation rooted in love, paglingap, and Spirit-led bayanihan.
Happy National Disaster Resilience Month!
