One year ago, the world bid farewell to a Shepherd who taught us the power of a smile, the necessity of mercy, and the beauty of creation in Laudato Siโ€™.

As we commemorate the ๐€๐ง๐ง๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐š๐ซ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐Œ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐ฌ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐๐จ๐ฉ๐ž ๐…๐ซ๐š๐ง๐œ๐ข๐ฌ (๐‰๐จ๐ซ๐ ๐ž ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ข๐จ ๐๐ž๐ซ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐ฅ๐ข๐จ), we reflect on his mission to build bridges and his deep love for the poor. Though he has returned to the Father, his words continue to guide our parish community toward a path of fraternity and peace.

From the blessing of the New Fire to the lighting of the Paschal Candle, we witnessed the darkness of night shattered by the glory of the Risen Lord. As the "Alleluia" rang out for the first time since Lent began, our parish was filled once again with the joy of the Resurrection.

We carry this light into the world today, knowing that Christ has conquered death forever.

๐“๐ก๐ž ๐ญ๐จ๐ฆ๐› ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ž๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ญ๐ฒ! Death has been defeated, and life has conquered! Today, St. Anthony of Padua Parish joins the whole world in shouting our greatest song of joy. Christ is Risen, and in His resurrection, we find the promise of our own new life.

May the light of the Risen Christ scatter the darkness of our hearts and minds. A blessed and glorious Easter to all our parishioners and their families!

Tonight at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, we gather for the "Mother of all Vigils." We will move from the darkness of sin into the glorious light of the Resurrection. Join us as we bless the new fire, hear the stories of our salvation, renew our baptismal promises, and lift our voices to sing the first, great ALLELUIA!

This procession is a visible sign of our gratitude for the ultimate sacrifice made on the Cross. As we lay Him to rest, we keep a prayerful vigil in our hearts, waiting in hope.

In the silence of the Cross, we contemplate the depth of His love โ€” a love that suffered, bled, and died so that we might live.
Let us adore the wood of the Cross, on which hung the Savior of the world.
