Re: A special invitation for students of truth to arise and grow by learning to say “no” (or say “yes”, only if you’re comfortable about it.)
Dear Friend of Unity,
First of all, thank you for your frequent attendance to our sessions.
Unity Philippines is a spiritual community dedicated to advancing spiritual awakening and transformation in each and every one of us. People join Unity for a lot of different reasons.
People stay in Unity for a lot of different reasons…
Our group has been attracting different people from all walks of life and all walks of faith.
Unity welcomes all people, regardless of race, color, gender, age, creed, religion, national origin, ethnicity, physical ability, sexual orientation, or occupation.
For some, this is a good opportunity to find and connect with kindred spirits. Some would join and stay because they find a “second home” or “new family”. Others find Unity to be a “watering hole” for the weary and tired.
If you wanna know my reason for staying with Unity for the longest time, it’s because Unity has been my major avenue for my spiritual growth and personal development for the past 15 years!
And to clarify, I personally believe that there are no right or wrong reasons for someone to join and stay in Unity. All of the reasons above, and a lot of other reasons you can think of, are never wrong nor invalid reasons for joining, staying, and liking Unity.
Most importantly, we all STAY in Unity because we all feel that Unity holds a SAFE AND SACRED SPACE for everyone coming to it.
However, I’m writing to you right now because I have to address one important issue:
Some of our friends join (and stay in) Unity for the purpose of prospecting to sell.
Yes, I’m talking about our friends who join Unity with the agenda of selling to other Unity members.
Our friends who sell insurance. Our friends who sell real estate. Our friends in network marketing. Our friends sell products from their own businesses. Even our friends who sell themselves to other Unity members, asking for phone numbers for dating and romantic pursuits!
Please don’t get me wrong…
And I repeat: Unity welcomes all people, regardless of race, color, gender, age, creed, religion, national origin, ethnicity, physical ability, sexual orientation or OCCUPATION.
Our salespeople friends are welcome in Unity.
My point is, it’s okay to sell! BUT…
PLEASE! Let’s keep in mind that when we get to do our selling, let’s be sensitive enough to feel if our prospects are still comfortable interacting with us.
And that goes double if we’re inviting people to business opportunities.
And that goes triple if we’re asking for people’s phone numbers for romantic pursuits.
We all have to understand, if someone is no longer comfortable interacting with people here in Unity, the next thing you know, that someone will stop attending our sessions. ‘Di ba?
Now what will you do if you’re the one at the receiving end of a prospecting?
If and when you’re prospected, be sure to follow your heart and buy if and only if you feel comfortable buying.
If you’re not comfortable buying, (or agreeing, or giving your number, or whatever), I’m inviting you to:
1. Grow and learn to say “no”, with ease and grace; or
2. Send us, the admins, a private message and inform us that you’re uncomfortable with someone about something. This way, we can address your concerns privately, and your confidentiality will be assured.
By doing either (or both) of the above, we are sowing seeds of comfort, understanding and confidence in ourselves, while we empower others to do the same.
Bottomline, my message to you, to the one reading this, is to please help us admins to provide a safe, sacred, and welcoming space for every friend of Unity to enjoy, stay in, and get comfortable with.
2021 was a year of challenge, growth and adventure. As we begin 2022, we are at a crossroads. The need for the Unity message has never been greater both here in Manila and all around the world. Unity Philippines is presented daily with opportunities to serve.
The entire admin of Unity joins me in thanking you for your love and support. Like you, we celebrate this opportunity to grow, share Love and look forward to a 2022 of following a divinely guided path.
