Every April, here in Thailand, people celebrate Songkran (สงกรานต์), the Thai New Year. It is well known for the “water fights” in the streets, but beyond this joyful image, there is a deep spiritual richness that can help us rediscover essential aspects of our Christian faith. Although Songkran has cultural and Buddhist roots, its symbols touch universal themes of the human heart such as purification, reconciliation, family, mercy, and communal joy.
