FIRST THURSDAY OF NOVEMBER
ST. JUDE, PRAY FOR US!

First Thursday of November — A Day with St. Jude, Patron of Hope

The first Thursday of November invites us to pause and turn our hearts toward St. Jude Thaddeus — the patron saint of hopeless and desperate situations. Known for his unwavering faith in the power of Christ’s mercy, St. Jude stands as a beacon of hope for all who feel lost or abandoned. His message echoes through centuries: no prayer goes unheard, no soul is forgotten by God.

In a world weighed down by uncertainty and pain, devotion to St. Jude reminds us that light still pierces through even the darkest clouds. His image — carrying the medallion of Christ’s face close to his heart — reflects his deep love and unshakeable trust in the Redeemer. By invoking his intercession, we are invited to surrender our burdens, trust in God’s timing, and persevere through trials with courage and faith.

On this first Thursday of November, as the month dedicated to remembering the faithful departed unfolds, the prayer to St. Jude becomes even more meaningful. It connects our earthly struggles with eternal hope, assuring us that divine mercy can heal, restore, and renew.

Prayer to St. Jude

O glorious Apostle, St. Jude Thaddeus,
faithful servant and friend of Jesus,
I turn to you in my time of need.
Intercede for me, that I may find strength in my trials,
peace in my heart, and hope in God’s will.
Through your powerful prayers,
may impossible things become possible,
and despair give way to trust.
St. Jude, patron of hope,
pray for us and for all who suffer. Amen.

Our First Saturday devotion - Mass, Rosary, and Consecration Prayers to the Immaculate Heart of Mary - has been rescheduled to November 8 to give way to the Solemnity of All Saints on November 1.

"The Rosary is the most powerful weapon to touch the Heart of Jesus," and through it, we deepen our devotion to the Immaculate Heart of our Mother.

You're invited to join us for these faith-filled activities and bring your friends and neighbors along!

Happy thoughts can make you fly. - Peter Pan

A huge thank you to everyone for your incredible support - time, talent, and treasure! We're also grateful to our Bishop, Most Rev. Elias Ayuban, Jr. CMF, DD, for gracing us at our Thanksgiving and Commissioning celebration.

Indeed, nothing is impossible. As Peter Pan says, "All you need is faith, trust, and a little bit of pixie dust."

[CBCP Circular No. 25-14]

For the past few days now we have been experiencing terrible calamities: typhoons, volcanic eruptions, fires, and earthquakes—one after another! Let us beg the Lord's mercy on our people.

Let us reiterate our invitation for our people to turn again to God with humble and contrite hearts. Let us reiterate our recently released National Call to Prayer and Public Repentance, asking our people to observe it every Sunday-and, where possible, every day-until the Solemnity of Christ the King, with the tolling of bells.

Let it be our collective Miserere, our plea for mercy and renewal as a nation.

"𝘊𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘦 𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘩𝘺𝘴𝘴𝘰𝘱, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘣𝘦 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘯; 𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘩 𝘮𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘯𝘰𝘸. 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘦 𝘢 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵, 𝘖 𝘎𝘰𝘥, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘶𝘵 𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘧𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘦." (𝘗𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘮 51:9, 12)

Following the beautiful suggestion of Bishop Jimmy Afable, we encourage our faithful:

✔️ to wear white clothes every Sunday of October and November,
✔️ and to display white ribbons in homes, churches, and public places - as a sign of our desire for transparency, accountability, and good governance, and as a humble prayer that our nation may be washed clean and renewed in God's mercy, and spared of further calamities.

Let our white garments be a symbol of the purity we seek for our land and our hearts. May this season of prayer and repentance lead us to hope, healing, and the restoration of our common life in truth and justice.

Let us beg the Lord to renew our nation, and make us instruments of justice and peace.

We gather as one people in celebration of a battle fought and won; a vow made and fulfilled; a time remembered and held dear; a miracle experienced and kept alive; love received and returned; your patronage sought and thanked for; God praised, God adored.

Give birth to God in our hearts. Give birth to Peace in our world. Give birth to the Word who heals all strife, conquers sin with love, overcomes death, brings us life. As once you interceded for the victory of faith in these islands, pray for us, now in our struggle for truth and justice, for peace and love in Christ.

In your loving hands, you hold Jesus, our God, our King, our Savior. You hold Him for us to adore and serve, to love and find salvation in. O Mother and Queen, our hearts may be small, but our love is enormous. And we ask you to come and take your place in us, in the company of your beloved Son; to bless us with your abiding presence; to fill us and keep us in your love and protection; to lead us in the eternal Fiat and Magnificat to God, in whose name we gather. AMEN.
