Today, we celebrate the feast of Nuestro Padre Jesus en el Santo Sepulcro de Landayan, affectionately known by devotees as โLolo Uweng,โ one of the most beloved devotions to the suffering and buried Christ in the Philippines.
For generations, countless faithful have journeyed to Landayan, San Pedro, Laguna, seeking healing, comfort, miracles, and strength through the intercession of the Seรฑor. Though depicted in the silence of the Holy Sepulchre, Lolo Uweng continues to remind devotees that even in moments of suffering, darkness, and waiting, Christ remains present and victorious through His Resurrection.
The deep devotion to Lolo Uweng reflects the Filipino peopleโs enduring faith and trust in Godโs mercy, especially amid lifeโs burdens and trials. Through prayer and devotion, many continue to find hope, peace, and renewed faith beneath the gaze of the Santo Sepulcro.
