📖1 Corinthians 13:13 (ESV)
So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Why Love is the Greatest? ❤
✨To understand why love is the greatest, we have to look at the history of the Corinthian church. The believers in Corinth had many spiritual gifts, great talents, and a lot of knowledge. However, they had a major problem: they were using these gifts to compete with one another and show off. They thought their talents made them superior, which caused arguments and split the church apart.
✨Apostle Paul wrote this chapter to correct their pride. He explained that a church can have the most impressive speakers, incredible faith to move mountains, and the generosity to give away everything, but without love, it is completely useless. Gifts, knowledge, and achievements are temporary tools for this earth. Love is the greatest because it is the only thing that lasts forever, and it is the very foundation of who God is.
What shall we do❓
✨The history of the Corinthians warns us not to fall into the trap of competition and pride. Our talents and success mean nothing to God if we do not love the people around us.
✨To practice this daily, believers can:
Stop the competition: We must stop comparing our gifts or achievements with other believers, remembering that gifts are meant to serve, not to outshine others.
📝Priorities Unity: We can focus on building up our community through kindness and patience, rather than trying to prove we are better than others.
📝Lead with the Love of God: We should make sure that God's Love is the main motivation behind our words and actions every day.
🙏Our Heavenly Father, We are asking for your forgiveness.
Lord Jesus, forgive us for the times we let pride and competition enter our hearts. Help us to learn and realize that our talents mean nothing without Your love. Teach us to value one another and to always let love guide everything we do. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
