Being a mother is one of the highest callings anyone can receive, but it is also one of the most challenging. In the eyes of the world, success is often measured by a child’s achievements. However, in the eyes of God, a **commendable mother** is defined by her heart’s posture toward her Creator.⁣

Looking at the life of Mary and the principles found in the Gospel of Luke, we discover what it truly means to be a mother who honors God.⁣

In **Luke 1:37**, Angel Gabriel reminded Mary that *"nothing is impossible with God."* Mary was young and facing a situation that could lead to social shame or even physical danger. Yet, her response in **verse 38** defines her character:⁣

> *“Ako’y alipin ng Panginoon. Mangyari sa akin ang iyong sinabi.” (I am the Lord’s servant... May it be to me as you have said.)*⁣

A commendable mother recognizes that her life—and the lives of her children—belong to the Lord. As Andrew Murray once said: **“The effective prayer of faith comes from a life given up to the will and the love of God.”**⁣

* **Application:** Are you trying to control every outcome of your children’s lives, or are you surrendering them to God’s plan? Submission means trusting God’s sovereignty even when the path ahead looks uncertain.⁣

**Masunurin sa Lahat ng Kautusan ng Diyos**⁣

We see a pattern of faithfulness in the lives of those God chooses. In **Luke 1:5-10**, we read about Elizabeth and Zechariah, who lived uprightly, observing all the Lord’s commands. Similarly, Mary’s obedience wasn't just a one-time "yes"; it was a lifestyle.⁣

A commendable mother understands that her greatest influence is her **example**. In **Luke 1:15-17**, it is prophesied that John the Baptist would be great, filled with the Holy Spirit from birth. This environment of greatness often begins with parents who walk in obedience.⁣

The Challenge: A Call to Faithful Motherhood⁣

Nanay, your work is often hidden and your sacrifices may go unnoticed by many, but they are seen by God. To be "Kapuri-puri" (Commendable) is to be a woman who fears the Lord.⁣
⁣
1. **Surrender Your "No":** Is there an area of your parenting or your life where you are resisting God? Like Mary, say, *"I am the Lord's servant."*⁣
2. **Live the Word:** Let your children see you reading the Bible and acting upon it. Let your home be a place where God’s commands are lived out in love.⁣
3. **Point Them to the Savior:** Remind your children that while you love them, only Jesus can save them. Use the truths of Hebrews 9 and Acts 4:12 to ground your family in the Gospel.⁣

The Great Commission is our primary directive. The core of this command is to "make disciples," which involves training others to follow and obey Christ. We do not do this in our own strength; this mission is fully enabled by the power of the Holy Spirit.⁣

Going: Evangelism happens as we move through our daily lives.⁣
⁣
Baptizing: Bringing people into the fellowship of the faith.⁣
⁣
Teaching: Grounding new believers in the truth of God's Word.⁣

The urgency of our message is found in the sobering reality of eternal separation from God. Scripture describes hell as a place of "eternal fire" and "weeping and gnashing of teeth." We share the Gospel because we do not want anyone to face this end.⁣

Who are the people who will be confined in hell?⁣
⁣
Those people who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.⁣
⁣
Those people who are living in wickedness.⁣
⁣
Those people whose names are not written in the Lamb’s book of life. (Pahayag 21:27b)⁣
⁣
Those people who will worship and receive the mark of the beast. (Revelation 14:11)⁣

God has chosen us to be His ambassadors. Our lives and our words serve as a "spiritual scent" in the world.⁣

Why do believers spread the fragrance of Christ's knowledge everywhere?⁣
⁣
a) We are to God the aroma of Christ functioning as fragrance of life to those who are being saved: A godly life is a magnetic fragrance that draws seeking hearts toward the Savior.⁣
⁣
b) We are to God, the aroma of Christ functioning as the smell of death to those who are perishing: To those who reject the truth, the Gospel serves as a final warning of the stakes of eternity.⁣

Spiritual gifts are not badges of honor; they are tools for stewardship. They serve as a constant reminder that no believer is an island.⁣
⁣
* **𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠:** When we attempt to serve in areas where we are not gifted, we often experience frustration. True blessing occurs when we operate within the grace God has provided. As the saying goes, if we serve outside our gifting, God is not pleased and the brethren are not blessed.⁣
* **𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐯𝐬. 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐥𝐞:** We must guard against the error of equating "spectacular" gifts (like public speaking or miracles) with superior spirituality. A person’s maturity is measured by their character and fruit, not the "loudness" of their gift. Every gift, whether quiet or prominent, is essential.⁣
⁣
𝐕𝐈. 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐝’𝐬 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞⁣
God does not give gifts for our entertainment, but for our employment. The Greek concept of "equipping" refers to mending what is broken and preparing what is needed for the ministry.⁣

The primary goal of any gift is the edification (strengthening) of the church. We use our strengths to shore up the weaknesses of others.⁣

𝘗𝘶𝘳𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦 2: 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺⁣
A healthy, unified church is a mature church. This maturity manifests in three specific ways:⁣
* **Stability (v.14):** Believers will no longer be like infants, easily tossed back and forth by the waves of false doctrine or clever deception.⁣
* **Growth (v.15):** We don't just grow in numbers; we grow "in all things" into the likeness of Christ, who is our Head.⁣
* **Participation (v.16):** Maturity is reached when every believer does their specific part. The church grows only when every joint supplies what is needed and every part works properly.⁣

Our service is not a stage for self-promotion. To keep unity, our heart's intent must be shifted away from "Who is the greatest?" to "How can God be magnified?"

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝟓 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐬
Understanding these five principles (inspired by Johnny Bley) helps us stay grounded:

𝘖𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘯 (𝘗𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘯): Every gift comes from God. We have nothing that we did not receive.

𝘍𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 (𝘎𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯): Our gifts are meant for others. They are tools for service, not trophies for display.

𝘋𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘺 (𝘗𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘪𝘣𝘢-𝘪𝘣𝘢): We are all different, and that is intentional. Variety in gifts strengthens the body; it shouldn't cause division.

𝘗𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 (𝘒𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘺𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘩𝘢𝘯): The "current" that makes our gifts work is the Holy Spirit. Without His power, our efforts are just noise.

𝘗𝘶𝘳𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦 (𝘓𝘢𝘺𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘯): Everything culminates in the glory of God.

"As long as the current of God—the Holy Spirit—runs through us, we have unity and God can form us into any shape He chooses for His purposes."

𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Living Out the Word
Inventory your Heart: Ask yourself, "Am I using my talents to be noticed, or to help my brother and sister grow?"

Celebrate Others: Instead of competing with those who have different gifts, look for ways your gift can complement theirs.

Stay Connected to the Source: Just as an appliance needs to stay plugged in to function, we must remain in constant prayer and submission to the Holy Spirit to remain "conductors" of His grace.

This week, look for one specific area in your ministry or church service where there is friction. Challenge yourself to intentionally step back, offer a word of encouragement to someone else's gift, and refocus your effort entirely on God's glory rather than your own recognition.

"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:46)
This is the moment Jesus takes on the full weight of human sin, experiencing a momentary separation from the Father so that we would never have to be truly alone.

Challenge: When you feel abandoned by God, do you turn away from Him or cry out to Him as Jesus did?

"Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." (Luke 23:44-46)
Jesus ends exactly where He began: in total trust in the Father. This is about the ultimate reunion—returning home to the Creator with a spirit of complete surrender.

𝐈. 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐯𝐯. 𝟑𝟐–𝟑𝟒)⁣⁣
Habang patungo sa Jerusalem, muling ipinahayag ni Jesus ang Kanyang darating na paghihirap, kamatayan, at muling pagkabuhay. Ipinapakita nito na ang "Greatness" ni Jesus ay hindi dadaan sa korona ng ginto, kundi sa korona ng tinik. Ang tunay na pinuno ay handang magsakripisyo para sa ikabubuti ng marami.⁣⁣

II.𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧’𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 (𝐯𝐯. 𝟑𝟓–𝟒𝟎)⁣⁣
Lumapit sina Santiago at Juan (James and John) upang humingi ng pwesto sa kanan at kaliwa ni Jesus. Akala nila ang kaharian ng Diyos ay katulad ng sa mundo—puno ng kapangyarihan at pribilehiyo. Ipinaalala ni Jesus na ang karangalan ay may kalakip na "cup" (hirap) at "baptism" (pagsubok).⁣⁣

𝐈𝐈𝐈. 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 (𝐕𝐕. 𝟒𝟏–𝟒𝟓)⁣⁣
Binago ni Jesus ang pananaw ng Kanyang mga alagad. Sa mundo, ang dakila ay ang pinaglilingkuran; ngunit sa Kaharian ng Diyos:⁣⁣

Servanthood is Leadership: Ang nais maging una ay dapat maging huli at maging lingkod ng lahat.⁣⁣

The Ultimate Example: Mismo ang Anak ng Tao (Jesus) ay naparito hindi upang paglingkuran, kundi upang maglingkod at ibigay ang Kanyang buhay bilang tubos sa marami.⁣⁣

𝐃𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐨𝐝 (𝐓𝐰𝐨 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐬)⁣⁣
𝐀𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐛𝐢 𝐚𝐲 𝐆𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐚𝐧 (Col. 3:23-24) Hindi nakakalimot ang Diyos. Anuman ang ating ginagawa, gawin natin ito nang buong puso para sa Panginoon at hindi para sa tao, dahil sa Kanya natin tatanggapin ang gantimpala.⁣⁣

𝐓𝐚𝐲𝐨 𝐚𝐲 𝐇𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐚 𝐀𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐠𝐚 𝐆𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐰𝐚 (2 Cor. 5:9-10) Ang bawat kilos at motibo sa paglilingkod ay susuriin ng Diyos. Ang ating layunin ay maging kalugud-lugod sa Kanya sa araw ng paghuhukom.⁣⁣
