In my Dominican Order, St Mary Magdalene is called ‘Evangelista’, the woman apostle.

We know from scripture that it was Mary Magdalene who went and said to the disciples: ‘I have seen the Lord’; and she told them that all that He had said to her.’

Indeed we know that Mary Magdalene was beside Jesus and His mother Mary at the foot of the cross as He hung there dying. She also accompanied His body to the tomb and helped bury Him.

May we continue to draw inspiration from the great evangeliser, Mary Magdalene, sharing with passion the story of Christ to all the world. St Mary Magdalene, pray for us!
