May 24, 2026 is Pentecost Sunday

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And you shall renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray:
O God, who have taught the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant that in the same Spirit we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in his consolation. Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Meet the Pink Sisters!!!

Ever heard of the “Pink Sisters”? Officially known as the Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters, these remarkable women have dedicated their lives to one powerful mission—perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

Since 1896, their chapels have never gone silent. Day and night, for over a century, prayers have risen without interruption, an unbroken chain of devotion that continues to this very moment. Even in a fast, noisy world, they remind us that quiet faith can move hearts, shape lives, and sustain the world in unseen ways.

The Philadelphia community alone marked 100 years of this sacred commitment in 2015 a proof that true dedication stands the test of time.

In a culture that rarely pauses, their witness asks a bold question: when was the last time you slowed down to truly connect with God?

Take a moment today pause, reflect, and reconnect. And if this inspires you, share their story so more people can rediscover the quiet strength of prayer.

Have you ever seen nuns dressed in bright pink and wondered who they are and what makes them so unique in the Catholic Church? Many people call them the Pink Sisters because of their striking habit, but their true identity goes much deeper than their color. They belong to a religious community known as the Servants of the Holy Spirit of Perpetual Adoration, a contemplative order whose entire life revolves around prayer before Jesus in the Eucharist.

The Pink Sisters were founded in 1896 by Arnold Janssen, a priest who had a deep love for the Holy Spirit and a strong desire to keep prayer alive in the Church. He believed that while missionaries go out to preach the Gospel, there must also be people who remain behind, praying constantly for the mission of the Church and for the needs of the world. That vision gave birth to the Pink Sisters.

What makes the Pink Sisters truly special is their commitment to Perpetual Adoration. This means that in their convent, prayer never stops. Day and night, someone is always kneeling before the Blessed Sacrament, lifting up the intentions of families, priests, nations, and ordinary people who may never even meet them. While the world is busy and noisy, these sisters quietly keep watch in prayer, trusting that God listens to every whispered petition.

Many people also ask why they wear pink. The color is not chosen for decoration or fashion. It is a symbol of joy, love, and devotion to the Holy Spirit. Their habit is a visible reminder that the Christian life is not only about sacrifice, but also about hope and the gentle joy that comes from staying close to God. When people see them, the color itself becomes a message: prayer is alive, and the Church is still interceding for the world.

The life of the Pink Sisters is simple and hidden. They usually live within their convent, dedicating their time to prayer, Eucharistic adoration, community life, and quiet service. They may not travel widely or appear frequently in public, but their mission is powerful in a different way. They support the Church spiritually, especially during difficult times, by offering constant prayers for peace, healing, and strength.

Today, the Pink Sisters serve in different parts of the world, including countries in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. Wherever they are found, they carry the same mission: to keep the flame of prayer burning without interruption. In many places, Catholics write to them or visit their chapels to submit prayer intentions, trusting that someone is always praying on their behalf.

In a world that often moves very fast, the witness of the Pink Sisters gently reminds us that prayer still matters. Their quiet presence teaches that not every mission is loud or visible. Some of the most powerful work in the Church happens in silence, before the altar, where faith is expressed through steady, faithful prayer.

In summary, the Pink Sisters are Catholic nuns dedicated to perpetual prayer before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Their pink habit symbolizes joy and love for the Holy Spirit, and their mission is to pray constantly for the Church and for the needs of the world.

Now you know.
