The official National Catechetical Month 2026 poster.
Let us prepare together for this meaningful celebration of our shared mission of proclaiming Jesus Christ and forming communities of faith.
Description:
“Ang Kasingkasing sa Katekista: Nagatapok, Nagapaminaw, Nagahiusa”
Listening is more than a communication skill. It is an expression of love. For catechists, attentive listening is essential in responding to Christ’s call to serve through teaching, accompaniment, and the building up of the Church.
Rooted in listening to the Gospel, catechists are formed to proclaim the Good News with compassion, wisdom, patience, and understanding. Before they speak, they listen. Before they teach, they encounter. Before they lead, they walk with the people entrusted to their care.
This photograph captures a meaningful gathering of catechists at Santo Niño de Sirawai Parish, one of the farthest parishes in the Diocese of Dipolog. In a community where Christians comprise around 30% of the population, the catechists continue to nurture faith with courage, humility, and perseverance.
The title “Ang Kasingkasing sa Katekista: Nagatapok, Nagapaminaw, Nagahiusa” expresses the heart of synodal catechesis. Catechists gather as one community, listen to one another’s experiences, and unite in their shared mission of proclaiming Christ. Through these encounters, listening flourishes, love and peace are strengthened, and the heart of every catechist is renewed.
This image reminds us that the mission of catechesis is not carried out alone. It is a shared journey of faith, especially in communities where the Church is called to become a humble presence of dialogue, friendship, hope, and unity.
