Maranatha Fousqurare Gospel Church was born on July 16, 1990 when a destructive intensity 7 earthquake hit Philippines, leaving Luzon in Chaos. Aguirre boldly called her neighbors and shared the Gospel of Lord Jesus Christ, 35 people accepted Christ in their hearts. To further nurture the 35 young Christians, Maranatha Foursquare Gospel Church - Valenzuela City sent Bro. Arnold A. Laurino and his
wife Sis. Pat on what she had started. Few months passed, a need for formal fellowship arose and the Bible study turned into Home Church. April 1991, Bro. Arnold decided to leave to join her wife in giving birth so Maranatha - Valenzuela sent another worker in the person of then second year bible student Bro. Danilo M. Rusco who led the young Christians in their journey towards knowing God and deeply serving Him. The home church members grew in number until it was launched as pioneering church in 1991 with the help of other 3 bible students namely Bro. Silver Gelena, Bro. Patrick Estanislao, and Bro. Naoaki Ikehara until 1993 when all are ordained as pastors and the other three need to leave for separate missions. Early part of 1994, when church members grew in quality and quantity the church transferred to a leased wider space until it became an established church named as Maranatha Foursquare's daughter church. This time, several groups were formed as Children's, Women's, Men's, Youth and Evangelism groups. These groups joined together to minister not only with each other in the church but also to the community as a whole. Dental and Medical missions were part of their ministry. Pastor Dan faithfully fulfilled His calling until he married Ptra. Joyce R. Tan in 1994 and the two partnered in carrying the ministries of the church.
1996 came when the lease contract ended, the church transfered to a 222 sqm. vacant lot owned by Mr. & Mrs. Donato Misana in Laura Street, still in Old Balara. The church leaders, with the help of another two bible students, Sis Marissa Mole and Sis. Sally Gallamaso, the owners allowed the church to construct a building with just light materials and occupy the space for free except to pay the annual Property Tax of P 1,000.00. In 1999, the church leaders negotiated with the owners to buy the lot so that the church won't transfer to another place again. That time Church lot Project called "OPLAN CANAAN" was launched in preparation for the Lord's answer to the positive response of the owners on the said negotiation. And on 2001, Mr. & Mrs. Misana offered the 222 sqm. lot for Php 700,000.00 as selling price. Still in 2001, in partnership with the Christian Growth Ministries - Home of Joy(a Non-Profit Organization), another ministry called Educational Sponsorship Program was born to give educational assistance to the less fortunate but deserving students from Elementary and High School levels. Since then, God's mighty hands moved in the miraculous ways, many souls were united in the church to glorify the Magnificent God. In 2007 on its 17th Anniversary, the church introduced another ministry called "CARE MINISTRY" to respond to emergency medical needs of each members. On January 23, 2008 OPLAN CANAAN's purpose has been fullfilled. The lot has been fully paid. Today, the Bible study in 1990 became an established church begot daughter named Manggahan Foursquare Church at Don Fabian St., Brgy. Manggahan, Commonwealth, Quezon City led by Ptr. Ferdinand Miranda. And another daughter church in Culiat Quezon City handled by Ptra. Joyce Rusco for almost two years and growing by God's grace. Still today, Maranatha is conducting Sunday School program and Bible studies in each nearby areas to equip and nurture children, young people and adults to give reverence to God. With the help of the Lord Jesus Christ, this church will continue its purpose to preach the Gospel of Salvation to the community, to the country and to the world until HE comes!
