OMS International, Inc. is the founding organization behind the Faith Evangelical Church of the Philippines, Inc. OMS is a non-denominational missionary organization with its international headquarters in Greenwood, Indiana, U.S.A. OMS began in 1901 in Japan and now has ministries in Asia, Europe, South America, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Its four-fold emphasis is evangelism, church planting, training and partnership. OMS’s objective is for FECPI to develop into a strong indigenous denomination that will plant churches across the Philippines. In September of 1982, the first OMS missionaries, Wes and Margaret Wildermuth, arrived in the Philippines and began the task of registering and building the OMS ministry. In January 1983, they were joined by Bill and Joyce Oden, whose assignment was to establish the first church. The Odens soon began conducting bible studies; after several months, they brought their groups together for the first worship service. Services in Faith Fellowship, located in the V.V. Soliven Building on EDSA, began in March 1984. Bill Oden was appointed the first pastor; he was assisted by Wes Wildermuth and Jim Murray. The first years were spent developing Faith Fellowship into a strong self-supporting congregation. Realizing the time for church planting had come, plans were made to begin daughter churches. The name Faith Evangelical Church of the Philippines (FECP) was chosen for the new denomination. Incorporation was finalized on May 4, 1990. A second church was started in Las Piñas in November 1990, and a third one (located on Marcos Highway near Marikina) was birthed in January 1991. From that time on, church planting has been one of the church’s major emphases. As church planting increased, the need for a dedicated training center grew. After much discussion and prayer, FECP (in partnership with OMS) founded Faith Bible College (FBC) in July 1989 to train pastors and Christian workers for full-time ministry. Twelve students enrolled the first year. It has since graduated over 90 students, many of whom are now pastoring denomination churches. FBC was incorporated as an independent entity in August, 2005, when its name was officially changed to Faith Bible College (FBC), Inc. After more than a decade of growth, it was deemed necessary to amend FECP’s by-laws. This was accomplished in April, 2005; at that time, its name was changed to Faith Evangelical Churches of the Philippines, Inc. Then, the name was back to FAITH EVANGELICAL CHURCH OF THE PHILIPPINES, INC. (FECPI) IN 2009.

Challenges & Opportunities
• Ilocos Sur’s coastal and lowland communities are concentrated in the west, while much of the interior—particularly along the Cordillera range—is mountainous, with rugged terrain, major rivers, and waterways that can make transportation and access to services more difficult.
• The province’s economically active population (ages 15–64) increased from 64.21% (442,811) in 2015 to 65.9% (464,335) in 2020. At the same time, Ilocos Sur has an aging population, with senior citizens comprising 12.6% of the household population in 2020.
• Agriculture remains an important livelihood, although much of the province’s terrain is unsuitable for farming. The economy is increasingly diversifying toward manufacturing, trade, services, and tourism, while farming and fishing communities remain vulnerable to weather, production costs, market fluctuations, and livelihood disruptions.
• Poverty has declined substantially in recent years, but economic vulnerability remains among some rural, farming, fishing, indigenous, and geographically isolated communities.
• Ilocos Sur is exposed to typhoons, flooding, landslides, and earthquakes. Its coastal areas, river systems, and mountainous interior make some communities particularly vulnerable to disasters and disruptions in transportation and essential services.
• Ilocanos comprise the majority of the population (580,484; 82.4%), alongside significant Bago (38,692; 5.5%), Kankanaey (34,978; 5.0%), and Itneg/Tinguian (24,952; 3.5%) communities, and several smaller ethnic groups. Indigenous communities also occupy ancestral-domain areas within the province.
• Ilocos Sur is predominantly Roman Catholic (81.5%), while a substantial Protestant and evangelical presence. The complete Bible is available in Kankanaey in print and digital formats, while Oral Bible Translation and storytelling work continues among Bago and some Itneg-Kankanaey communities.

Let the words of Isaiah 55:11 guide your prayer for Ilocos Sur, its churchless barangays and unreached and unengaged people:
"So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the purpose for which I sent it."

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we lift up the province of Ilocos Sur—its cities, municipalities, and 768 barangays. We hold on to Your promise in Isaiah 55:11 that Your Word will not return empty, but will accomplish what You desire and fulfill the purpose for which You sent it.

Thank You for the 838 churches already serving across the province. Strengthen pastors, missionaries, church workers, and believers, and unite them in proclaiming Christ, making disciples, and serving their communities faithfully.

Lord, we especially remember the 330 barangays that remain unreached. Send workers into these places and open doors for the Gospel, even in remote and mountainous communities where travel and access are difficult. Prepare hearts to receive Your truth, and establish strong, Christ-centered communities of faith.

We pray for the Ilocano, Bago, Kankanaey, Itneg/Tinguian, and other peoples of Ilocos Sur. May Your Word cross every cultural and linguistic barrier. Thank You for the complete Bible available in Kankanaey and for the continuing Oral Bible Translation and storytelling work among Bago and some Itneg-Kankanaey communities. May Your Word be heard, understood, shared, and lived out.

Father, provide for families whose livelihoods depend on farming, fishing, trade, tourism, and other forms of work. Strengthen vulnerable rural, indigenous, and geographically isolated communities, and grant dignity, provision, and opportunities for both the working population and the growing number of senior citizens.

Protect Ilocos Sur from typhoons, floods, landslides, earthquakes, and other disasters. Give wisdom to leaders and responders, preserve lives, and enable Your Church to bring practical help, compassion, and hope in times of need.

Above all, awaken hearts throughout Ilocos Sur to Jesus Christ. Revive Your Church, strengthen believers, raise up a new generation of disciples, and let Your Word reach every city, town, village, coastland, valley, and mountain.

May Your Word not return empty, but accomplish Your purpose throughout Ilocos Sur. May every barangay have a living witness for Christ, and may lives, families, and communities be transformed by the Gospel.

Today, let us pray for the NETHERLANDS.

Background:
Christianity in the Netherlands seems to have reached a low point. Its glorious history as a Christian nation includes ministry to refugees and Jews, and a long record of service in foreign missions. But secular society today turns its back on its Christian past. Less than 10% of the population now attend church weekly. The Netherlands leads the world in promotion of secular and New Age views or values. Few restrictions exist for drug use, deviant lifestyles, prostitution, euthanasia, and abortion. Half the nation’s church buildings are now either destroyed or converted for other uses such as bars and mosques. Pray for revival that restores the nation spiritually.

The Roman Catholic Church is rapidly decreasing - from 41% in 1975 to around 20% today - and every year has fewer priests and missionaries. Weekly attendance is reportedly as low as 300,000 on any given Sunday, and the aged composition of the faithful points toward further decline. However, there is also clear growth in the charismatic and evangelical groups within Dutch Catholicism, and a proliferation of Alpha Courses.

Protestant churches also suffer calamitous losses, from 60% of the population in 1900 to around 20% currently. Over half of membership is over age 65, in both the many Calvinist denominations and in most of the Free Churches.

There are signs of hope amid the decline. Pray for:
* Growth in the number and strength of many independent churches, and continued vitality among charismatic Pentecostal Christians.
* Immigrant churches bring diversity, vitality and a new sense of hope to the Netherlands.
* The Gereformeerde Bond and Evangelisch Werkverband are growing evangelical expressions in the PKN (Protestant National Church) with over 500 pastors involved. These movements are increasingly respected and instrumental in sending missionaries, fostering unity and planting new churches using new models.
* Unity within evangelicalism sees progress, but remains a challenge.

September 10 is World Su***de Prevention Day, a time to raise awareness, break the stigma surrounding su***de, and remind one another that su***de can be prevented.

This year continues the 2024–2026 theme, “Changing the Narrative on Su***de.” It calls us to move away from silence, stigma, and misunderstanding toward openness, compassion, understanding, and support.

According to the World Health Organization’s latest global estimates, published in 2025, an estimated 727,000 people died by su***de in 2021. Su***de was the third-leading cause of death among 15–29-year-olds, while 73% of su***de deaths occurred in low- and middle-income countries. In the WHO South-East Asia Region alone, an estimated 208,000 lives are lost to su***de each year.

Behind every number is a person—a life deeply valued and loved—and families, friends, and communities who are profoundly affected.

As followers of Christ, we can help change the narrative by becoming people who listen without judgment, respond with compassion, notice those who may be struggling, and remind them that seeking help is not something to be ashamed of.

“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” — Psalm 34:18 (NLT)

Sometimes our most meaningful response is simply to be present—to listen, to pray, to encourage, and when necessary, to help someone connect with professional care. As Galatians 6:2 reminds us, we are called to “share each other’s burdens.”

If you or someone you know is struggling, feeling overwhelmed, or having thoughts of su***de, please don’t carry the burden alone. Reach out to someone you trust and ask for help. * For counselors, mental-health professionals, crisis responders, pastors, and caregivers—that God would give them wisdom, strength, and compassion.
* For greater awareness, accessible mental-health care, and effective su***de-prevention efforts in the Philippines and around the world.
* For us as Christ’s people—that we would be attentive to those around us, willing to listen, ready to carry one another’s burdens, and faithful in pointing people toward both hope and help.

May God make us a community where hurting people are seen, heard, prayed for, and lovingly supported.

There is hope. There is help. And no one should have to carry their burdens alone.

Today, let us pray for the persecuted church in MYANMAR.

What does persecution look like in Myanmar?
Christians in Myanmar continue to experience untold suffering because of persecution and conflict, with last year’s devastating earthquakes adding to the vulnerability of many believers.

It is now five years since the military coup that deepened Myanmar’s long-running civil war and had a catastrophic impact on the whole country. Many Christians have been caught in the crossfire, particularly in ethnic minority areas, with believers killed, churches bombed and villages destroyed. Thousands have been displaced, and an earthquake in March killed more than 3,600 people and forced even more from their homes.

The vulnerability of Christians in Myanmar goes back years, rooted in the belief that to be Burmese is to be Buddhist – and that means other faiths are often seen as foreign and a threat to national unity. It leads to everyday discrimination, such as difficulties getting Christianity recognised on ID cards, denial of access to basic services such as water, and forced participation in Buddhist rituals. There is even a state-supported plan to convert Christians and other religious minorities to Buddhism, particularly in remote areas. Churches, meanwhile, have difficulty registering with the authorities and evangelistic activities are strongly opposed.

Converts can face additional hostility from their families and communities, who may view their faith as a betrayal of their heritage.

What has changed this year?
The past year has seen conflict intensify across Myanmar, with Christians among those affected. Sagaing Region – which was hit by the earthquakes – saw Christian villages targeted by violence. And in the Christian-majority Chin State, attacks on churches persist. Overall, Christians have faced worsening violence, displacement and systematic targeting, with the earthquakes deepening the suffering of many. In one of numerous tragic incidents, ten armed men stormed a parish in Kangyitaw, forcing Father Donald Martin to kneel. He refused, declaring that he knelt only to God, and it cost him his life.

How can you pray for Myanmar?
* The devastating 2025 earthquake left more than 3,600 people dead and hundreds of thousands displaced – Christians among them. Pray for these believers and all people in Myanmar as they rebuild.
* Christians are targeted and discriminated against by the ruling military junta. Pray for a change of heart in the authorities.
* Ask God to protect church leaders and evangelists in Myanmar who risk their lives to bring God’s Word and discipleship training to Christians in remote areas.

Challenges & Opportunities
• Masbate lies between Bicol and the Visayas and is composed of three major islands—Masbate, Ticao, and Burias. Its many coastal and island communities make transportation and access especially vulnerable to severe weather.
• Masbate has made encouraging economic progress. Poverty incidence among its population declined from 33.0% in 2018 to 19.2% in 2023, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority. Yet many families remain economically vulnerable. In August 2026, more than 14,300 low-income and near-poor families in the province received government assistance to help them cope with higher prices.
• Masbate continues to pursue peace in communities historically affected by armed conflict. During consultations in Mobo in June 2026, residents identified access to potable water, electricity, education, farm-to-market roads, and sustainable livelihoods among their pressing needs. Government peace officials reported that Masbate was nearing qualification for Stable Internal Peace and Security status, although remnants of insurgent groups continued to operate on a limited scale.
• Its island geography also presents challenges during typhoons and other severe weather. In July 2026, Typhoon Inday prompted preemptive evacuations in vulnerable areas and the suspension of sea travel, temporarily cutting important transportation links between communities.
• Masbate is culturally and linguistically diverse because of its location between Bicol and the Visayas. Masbateño/Minásbate, Cebuano, Hiligaynon, Bikol, and other languages and varieties are heard across different parts of the province.
• According to the 2020 Census, 89.3% of Masbate's household population reported Roman Catholic affiliation.

May what occurred at Pentecost, as recorded in Acts 2:1–11, also take place throughout Masbate:
"When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly a noise like a violent rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And tongues that looked like fire appeared to them, distributing themselves, and a tongue rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with different tongues, as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out.

Now there were Jews residing in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the crowd came together and they were bewildered, because each one of them was hearing them speak in his own language. They were amazed and astonished, saying, “Why, are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we each hear them in our own language to which we were born? Parthians, Medes, and Elamites, and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea, and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya around Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues of the mighty deeds of God.”

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, today we lift before You the province of Masbate—its people, its families, its churches, and especially the 330 barangays identified as unreached.

As Your Spirit moved with power on the day of Pentecost, move throughout Masbate—from Masbate Island to Ticao and Burias, from its towns to its most remote coastal and island communities. Open hearts to the Gospel and make a way for Christ to be faithfully proclaimed wherever distance, poverty, conflict, or isolation have made ministry difficult.

At Pentecost, people heard the mighty deeds of God in their own languages. We pray the same for Masbate. May the Good News be clearly understood in Masbateño, Cebuano, Hiligaynon, Bikol, and the other languages spoken across the province. Let language and culture become bridges, not barriers, to knowing Jesus.

Holy Spirit, strengthen the 332 churches already established in Masbate. Fill believers with fresh compassion, courage, and a heart for those who have yet to hear. Raise up pastors, church planters, disciplers, intercessors, and ordinary believers who will willingly go. May churches not see the unreached barangays merely as numbers, but as communities of people whom You know and deeply love.

Lord, bring lasting peace to communities affected by conflict. Provide for families struggling with poverty and rising costs, and bless efforts to bring livelihoods, education, roads, water, and other basic services to remote areas. Protect communities vulnerable to typhoons, flooding, rough seas, and other disasters, and keep pathways open for both practical help and Gospel witness.

Just as Pentecost transformed ordinary disciples into bold witnesses, ignite Your Church in Masbate. Let the Gospel move from church to household, from household to barangay, and from barangay to island, until communities once called unreached become communities that worship You and carry the Good News to others.

Come, Holy Spirit. Fill Your people, send Your laborers, open hearts, and let Masbate hear, believe, and proclaim the mighty deeds of God.

Today, let us pray for MOZAMBIQUE.

Background:
Thank God for a nation where the government works to advance democracy, and economic and religious freedom. Multiple elections have been held since the end of the vicious civil war in 1992. Years of suffering led to spiritual responsiveness. After harsh persecution under the Marxist-oriented regime, Christian faith spread rapidly. There are great opportunities for fruitful ministry in most of the country. Mozambique was highly unevangelized, but now many people from all faiths and regions have begun to follow Christ!

Mozambique enjoys religious freedom for the first time in its history. Catholicism dominated under the Portuguese. Then, under Marxism, all Christians suffered. Missionaries were expelled, Christian leaders intimidated and imprisoned. Many churches were destroyed during this period. Many people died for their faith, but growth came as a result of their sacrifice. Pray that this freedom might continue and that true Christian faith and love might be expressed throughout society.

The spiritual responsiveness of Mozambicans is one result of the suffering and deprivation endured. Congregations of indigenous Christians mushroomed all across the country. Evangelicals were 3.5% of the population in 1975 and grew to 12% by 2005. Natural disasters in 2000/01 and 2006/07 stimulated much Christian assistance, and churches were planted in refugee camps. Isolation, due to past anti-Christian governments and poverty, means that much of Mozambican church practice is genuinely indigenous. But massive growth also presents proportionally huge challenges: ignorance of biblical teaching and standards, syncretism and legalism. Fortunately, the church is also characterized by an eagerness to learn. Pray for growth in maturity and truth that matches growth in numbers - without forsaking cultural authenticity.

Theological Education by Extension is absolutely crucial when travel is difficult, money tight and existing schools already stretched. TEE, mobile training and correspondence courses are spreading throughout the country (PAoC, AIM, SIM, Baptist, Nazarenes, Emmaus Bible School of the Brethren). Radio is a natural medium for this concept and TWR is building on its already substantial work in this area.

Unreached peoples are still more concentrated in Mozambique than anywhere else in southern Africa. But this is rapidly changing, since many are responding to outreach. Most existing outreach is through Mozambican missionaries and pastors.

Expatriate missionaries have a vital but sensitive role to play, particularly among the unevangelized. There is a great need for missionaries in this open and spiritually responsive country.

Habang naghahanda sila para sa kanilang 9th Anniversary sa September 6, hinihiling namin ang Iyong patuloy na kapunuan sa lahat ng kanilang pangangailangan—resources, workers, lakas, at bawat detalye ng pagdiriwang. Pagkalooban Mo rin sila ng magandang panahon upang ligtas at masayang makapagtipon ang lahat.

Ingatan Mo rin si Rev. Mar Ocampo at ang kanyang asawa sa kanilang paglalakbay patungong Dulag. Samahan Mo sila sa kanilang pagpunta at pag-uwi, ilayo sa anumang panganib, at gamitin Mo ang kanilang pagbisita upang magbigay ng kalakasan, encouragement, at pagpapala sa buong iglesia.

Panginoon, salamat dahil inilagay Mo ang FF-Dulag sa gitna ng Municipality ng Dulag, kung saan mahigit 50,000 katao ang naninirahan sa 45 barangays. Tulungan Mo ang iglesia na patuloy na maging asin at ilaw sa kanilang komunidad. Gamitin Mo sila upang maabot ang mga pamilya, mga bata at kabataan, mga magsasaka at mangingisda, at ang mga nangangailangan ng pag-asa, tulong, at pagkalinga.

Sa isang bayang nakararanas din ng mga hamon tulad ng bagyo, baha, at iba pang panganib sa kabuhayan at kaligtasan, patuloy Mong gawing matatag na saksi ang FF-Dulag ng Iyong pag-ibig at katapatan. Nawa’y sa kanilang paglilingkod, mas maraming tao ang makakilala kay Hesus, mas maraming buhay ang mabago, at mas maramdaman ng buong Dulag ang Iyong kabutihan.

Sa kanilang ika-siyam na taon, patuloy Mong palawakin ang kanilang pananampalataya, pagkakaisa, at impluwensya para sa Iyong kaharian.

Kasama ng buong FF-Dulag, aming isisigaw:
"Totoong ginawan Mo kami ng dakilang bagay, Panginoon, at punong-puno kami ng kagalakan."

Ngayong araw, ipanalangin natin ang mga Pala'wan (o Palawano) ng Brooke's Point, Palawan, isa sa mga unreached people groups sa Pilipinas.

Sino ang mga Palawano ng Brooke's Point?
• Kabilang ang mga Pala'wan sa mga katutubong mamamayan na matagal nang naninirahan sa timog Palawan. Ang Brooke's Point Palawano ay isa sa mga subgroup ng mga Palawano at mayroon silang sariling wika at natatanging kultura.
• Noon, marami sa kanila ang umaasa sa pangangaso at mga yamang nakukuha sa kagubatan. Sa paglipas ng panahon, naging bahagi na rin ng kanilang kabuhayan ang pagsasaka at pangongolekta ng pulot-pukyutan at rattan. Malalim ang kanilang ugnayan sa kagubatan, na hindi lamang pinagkukunan ng kabuhayan kundi mahalagang bahagi rin ng kanilang kultura at pamumuhay.
• Kilala rin sila sa paghahabi. Isa sa kanilang mga tradisyunal na handicraft ang tingkep, isang masining na basket na yari sa rattan at ginagamit na lalagyan ng bigas, pagkain at mahahalagang gamit.
• Malaki ang kanilang pagpapahalaga sa mga nakatatanda. Ang tradisyunal na pinuno ng komunidad ay tinatawag na Panglima, na may mahalagang papel sa pag-aayos ng mga sigalot at paggabay sa pamayanan.

Ano ang Kanilang mga Suliranin?
• Patuloy na hamon ang access sa edukasyon, lalo na sa mga komunidad na malayo sa sentro ng bayan. Kasabay nito, nahaharap ang mga kabataan sa hamon kung paano makibagay sa modernong panahon nang hindi nawawala ang kanilang wika, kultura at pagkakakilanlan. May mga pag-aaral na nagpapakitang humihina na ang pakikilahok ng ilang kabataan sa mga tradisyunal na gawain.
• Patuloy ding nakaaapekto sa kanilang mga komunidad ang pagmimina at iba pang development projects. Noong Agosto 2026, nagsagawa pa ng public hearing sa Brooke's Point tungkol sa panukalang pagtaas ng taunang produksyon ng isang nickel mining project na sumasaklaw sa ilang barangay. Kaya nananatiling mahalagang usapin ang pangangalaga sa kagubatan, tubig at ancestral lands, gayundin ang paggalang sa karapatan at boses ng mga katutubo sa mga desisyong nakaaapekto sa kanila.

Ano ang Kanilang mga Paniniwala?
Marami sa mga Pala'wan ang nananatiling sumusunod sa kanilang tradisyunal na paniniwala tungkol sa mga espiritu o anito, na makikita sa mga ritwal tulad ng pagdiwata. Mayroon na ring mga nakakilala kay Cristo, ngunit maliit pa rin ang evangelical Christian presence sa kanila.
Isang magandang pagkakataon sa pagpapalaganap ng Mabuting Balita ang pagkakaroon ng Kasulatan sa kanilang sariling wika. Mayroon ding audio Scripture sa Brooke's Point Palawano, kaya maaari nilang marinig ang Salita ng Diyos sa wikang pinakamalapit sa kanilang puso.

Prayer Points:
🙏 Makilala at sumampalataya kay Cristo ang mga Panglima, elders at mga ama ng tahanan, at sa pamamagitan nila ay mabuksan din ang kanilang mga pamilya at komunidad sa Mabuting Balita.
🙏 Makarating sa mga Pala'wan, maging sa mga liblib na komunidad, ang Salita ng Diyos sa kanilang sariling wika. Nawa'y gamitin ng Diyos ang nakasulat at audio na Kasulatan upang makilala nila si Hesus.
🙏 Tumawag at humubog ang Diyos mula mismo sa mga Pala'wan ng mga disciples, Bible teachers at church leaders na magbabahagi ng Mabuting Balita sa kanilang sariling wika at kultura.
🙏 Ang mga kabataang Pala'wan ay magkaroon ng magandang edukasyon at mga oportunidad, habang napapangalagaan ang kanilang wika at pagkakakilanlan
🙏 Ang mga Kristiyanong nakikisalamuha sa kanila ay maging tunay na patotoo ni Kristo—may pag-ibig, katarungan at paggalang, lalo na sa usapin ng lupa at karapatan ng mga katutubo.
🙏 Karunungan para sa kanilang mga lider at ang makatarungang pangangalaga sa kanilang ancestral lands, kagubatan at mga pinagkukunan ng tubig. Nawa'y ang anumang pag-unlad sa kanilang lugar ay tunay na magdala ng kabutihan at hindi pagkasira sa kanilang pamayanan.
