It’s the Mary month of May! Come join us as we offer blooms and prayers to our Blessed Mother!

During May, Filipino Catholics honor Mama Mary through daily flower offerings and prayer, part of Flores de Mayo. Each flower offered to the Blessed Virgin Mary symbolizes love, gratitude, and personal intentions. Children and families gather before Marian altars, expressing devotion through these simple, heartfelt acts.

The daily praying of the Holy Rosary accompanies the offering, inviting reflection on Christ’s life through Mary’s eyes. Together, these practices deepen faith, foster community, and draw hearts closer to God through the gentle guidance of Mama Mary.

On Friday, May 1st, on the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker, we remember our work force, both active and retired for their tireless labor. We also fondly dedicate the month to our Mother Mary. And best of all, we place all our trust in the mercy of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Come all, pray and celebrate with us!

Blessing of the oil from St. Sharbel Makhlouf
CTK Main Church
April 23, 2026

The devotion to the oil of Saint Sharbel Makhlouf is rooted in the Church’s long tradition of sacramentals—simple, tangible signs that help dispose the faithful to receive God’s grace more deeply. When the oil is blessed in honor of St. Sharbel, it becomes a powerful aid for prayer, especially for those seeking healing and spiritual strength.

What is the meaning of the blessed oil?
The oil associated with St. Sharbel recalls the biblical use of oil as a sign of God’s healing and consecration. In Scripture, oil is used to anoint the sick, strengthen the weak, and set apart persons for God’s purpose. In this devotion, the oil becomes a reminder that God’s healing mercy is not distant, but present and active—often working quietly, just as St. Sharbel lived his hidden life of prayer.

Its spiritual significance
The blessing of the oil does not make it “magical.” Rather, it is a sacramental—a means through which the Church invites God’s grace upon those who use it with faith. Through the intercession of St. Sharbel, the faithful are encouraged to:

* Trust in God’s will, whether in healing or in carrying one’s cross
* Grow in repentance, humility, and deeper prayer
* Unite their suffering with Christ

The oil points not to itself, but to God—the true source of all healing.

Graces received through devotion
Many devotees testify to spiritual and even physical graces when using the blessed oil with sincere prayer:

* Inner peace and consolation in times of anxiety or suffering
* Strength in illness, especially for those enduring long-term conditions
* Renewed faith and closeness to God
* Conversion of heart, turning back to prayer and the sacraments

These graces often come quietly, deep within the soul, even before any outward healing is seen.

Healing and the intercession of St. Sharbel
St. Sharbel is widely known for miraculous healings attributed to his intercession. The Church, however, reminds us that the greatest healing is always spiritual—restoration of our relationship with God. Physical healing, when granted, is a sign pointing to this deeper grace.

When the oil is applied—often on the forehead or the part of the body in pain—the faithful are encouraged to pray with trust, for example:

“Through the intercession of St. Sharbel, Lord, heal me according to Your will, and grant me the grace to love and trust You more.”

In the end, the blessed oil of St. Sharbel is an invitation: to encounter God’s healing presence, to deepen one’s faith, and to believe that even in silence and suffering, grace is at work.

CTK COMMUNITY WARMLY WELCOMES THE RELIC OF ST. SHARBEL
Thursday, April 23, 2026
Main Church

The faithful gathered in reverent anticipation as the relic of Saint Sharbel Makhlouf was welcomed at the Main Church of Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows on April 23, 2026—an occasion that drew a nearly full congregation of devotees eager to encounter the grace associated with the beloved Lebanese saint.

The Welcome Mass, marked by solemnity and deep devotion, was presided over by Bishop Honesto Ongtioco, who led the faithful in prayer and reflection on the quiet yet powerful witness of St. Sharbel’s life. Known for his asceticism, humility, and miraculous intercessions, St. Sharbel continues to inspire countless believers around the world to seek God in silence, sacrifice, and unwavering faith.

Concelebrating with the bishop were parish priest Fr. Aytoy Opiniano, Fr. Hans Magdurulang, and other members of the parish clergy, whose presence underscored the unity and spiritual fervor of the community.

Bishop Ongtioco invited the faithful to look beyond the extraordinary miracles attributed to St. Sharbel and instead embrace the deeper call to holiness through a life rooted in prayer, simplicity, and trust in God. He reminded everyone that sanctity is not reserved for the few but is a path open to all who are willing to respond generously to God’s grace.

As the relic was venerated, many parishioners were seen in quiet prayer, some moved to tears, bringing with them personal intentions, hopes for healing, and thanksgiving. The atmosphere in the church reflected both awe and intimacy—a sacred moment where heaven seemed to touch earth.

The visit of the relic of St. Sharbel to Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows served not only as a spiritual milestone for the parish but also as a renewed invitation for the faithful to deepen their relationship with God, inspired by the hidden yet radiant life of one of the Church’s most revered saints.

The Thanksgiving/Send off Mass will be at 6:00 p.m.
