A sister approached the bishop and said, "𝘽𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙥, 𝙄 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙘𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙘𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚."🥹
He asked gently, "May I understand why you feel that way?"
She explained, "I see sisters and brethren using their phones during the meeting, some are whispering and not paying attention, others don't seem to be living the gospel principles, some appear to be dozing off, and I even feel like some are judging me. It's disheartening, and it feels like there are so many hypocrites."🥹💔
The bishop paused thoughtfully. Then he said, "Before you make a final decision, would you be willing to do something for me?"
She agreed, "Of course, Bishop. What is it?"
He instructed, "Please take this glass of water and walk around the chapel twice, being very careful not to spill a single drop." She replied confidently, "Yes, I can do that."
She carefully took the glass, walked around the chapel twice, and returned, saying with a smile, "It's done, Bishop."
The bishop then asked her, "While you were walking, did you notice anyone using their phone? Did you hear any whispering? Did you observe anyone who didn't seem to be reverent? Did you see anyone sleeping?"
She replied, "No, Bishop. I didn't notice anything because I was so focused on the glass, making sure not to spill the water."
He then said kindly, "When we come to church, our primary focus should be on the Savior and feeling the influence of the Holy Ghost, so that we can stay on the covenant path.
As the scripture teaches, 'Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not.' Our personal relationship with God and our commitment to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ should not be overshadowed by the imperfections we might perceive in others. Let your focus be on your own journey of discipleship and drawing closer to our Heavenly Father and His Son.💗✨
Happy Sabbath day🥰
