Forty-eight years ago, President Thomas S. Monson shared a personal story that beautifully illustrated the power and blessings that come from following the prophet. His life was a powerful example of faith, obedience, service, and love for the Lord๐Ÿ’•

We will always cherish his stories, his service, his testimony, and the Christlike example he left behind. His influence continues to inspire us to listen to the living prophets and follow their counsel๐ŸŒธโœจ

Maybe there is something you've been praying about for a long time. A mission, a career, a marriage, a family, an opportunity, or a dream you've carried in your heart for years. Don't give up simply because it hasn't happened yet๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿค

The Lord can use waiting seasons to prepare us for blessings we are not yet ready to receive. Sometimes the delay isn't a denial; sometimes it is preparation, protection, or an invitation to grow closer to Him.

Continue to pray.
Continue to prepare.
Continue to believe.

If the dream is aligned with His will, trust that He knows when and how to fulfill it. And if His answer looks different from what you expected, trust Him enough to follow that path too. โค๏ธ

For the past two years, my son has been serving as a volunteer missionary in Mexico City๐Ÿค

He has spent much of that time in areas that werenโ€™t always the easiest or safest. I never really worried about him. I knew he was where he was supposed to be, and I trusted that the Lord.

But two years is a long time.

He missed two sibling weddings, two sibling graduations, and the arrival of a new nephew who is already cutting teeth and getting ready to walk.

He put college and other opportunities on hold for 24 months to give his time and energy to serving others.

That is a sacrifice.๐Ÿฅน

But I also know that the missionary receives so much during those two years. He has grown, learned, served, struggled, loved, taught and changed in ways that will stay with him for the rest of his life.

And most importantly, he has had the opportunity to testify of Jesus Christ and teach others about His love for them and the restored gospel.

I raised my son in the Lord for 18 years.

And then, in a way, I got to give him back to the Lord for two.

I think of it almost like tithing a tenth of his life. Giving the Lord two of his first 20 years to serve, love and testify of Him.

Today, we get to go pick him up.

And I cannot wait to see him. โค๏ธ

No matter how things turn out, you can have peace because of the covenants you have made with the Lord. Life may not always follow the path you imagined, but the promises of God are greater than any temporary disappointment.๐ŸŒธ

Temple covenants remind us that our story does not end with todayโ€™s unanswered prayer, closed door, delayed blessing, or difficult season. Keep trusting Him. What matters most is that you remain faithful to the Savior and continue walking with Him. Because of Him, all will ultimately be well. โค๏ธ

Faith endures the trials and the uncertainties of life because it is firmly rooted in Christ and His doctrine. Jesus Christ is the one undeviating, perfectly reliable object of our trust.

Maybe you've made choices you regret. Maybe you've wandered, struggled with faith, or wondered if you are still worthy of God's love. Please remember: His love is not something you earn by being perfect๐Ÿ’•

The Savior's invitation is always to come unto Him. Through repentance and His grace, you can change and become better. Your past may be part of your story, but it does not have to define your future. God still sees your potential๐ŸŒธโœจ

Someone might serve a full-time mission at 18 and some serve at their late 20's, dedicating two years, and then spend years diligently building their career. In contrast, President Russell M. Nelson was a renowned heart surgeon for many years before being called as an Apostle at age 59, and then later became the Prophet at age 93, continuing to lead with vigor. President Thomas S. Monson was called as a bishop at 22, an Apostle at 36, and then became the Prophet at 80, serving faithfully until his passing at 90.

These examples remind us that everyone operates on their own unique timeline, their "time zone." As Elder Jeffrey R. Holland beautifully taught, "The Lord is not a respecter of persons, but He is a respecter of circumstance". Our circumstances, and thus our timelines, are different.

You might feel that others are ahead or behind you, but the truth is, everyone is running their own race at their own pace. There's no need to envy or fret. Just as a runner in a marathon focuses on their own race and not every other participant, we too should focus on our individual covenants and path.

President Russell M. Nelson has often reminded us that "The Lord measures our success by the desires of our hearts as well as by our deeds". It's about our faithfulness and growth, not a checklist of societal achievements at specific ages.๐ŸŒธ

So, relax. You are exactly where you're meant to be on your journey. You're not late, and you're not early. You are, in fact, perfectly on time for your own sacred purpose. Trust in the Lord's timing for you, for He knows what is best.๐Ÿคโœจ

You are not behind. You are being prepared. Sometimes we compare our lives with others and wonder why their answers came sooner than ours. But God does not measure our progress by someone elseโ€™s timeline๐Ÿค

Maybe your next step is a mission. Maybe it is education or a career. Maybe you are praying about marriage and waiting for the right eternal companion. Or maybe, honestly, you have no idea what you are supposed to do right now. That is okay.โœจ

Keep trusting the Lord. He sees the beginning, the middle, and the end of your journey. Your responsibility is not to know everythingโ€”it is to follow Him one step at a time. He has a plan for you. โค๏ธ

There will be moments when you don't know what to do, where to go, or how everything will work out. In those moments, remember that Jesus Christ is not simply someone we turn to when everything else fails. He should be the first Person we turn to๐Ÿฉท

He knows your worries, your questions, your disappointments, and the battles you don't talk about. He understands you perfectly because He has already walked the path of suffering and sorrow๐Ÿ’•

So make Him a priorityโ€”not only when life is hard, but every day. Pray to Him. Follow Him. Trust Him. When you don't know the answer, start with Christ. He is the way, the truth, and the life๐ŸŒป

Young adults are faced with so many important life decisionsโ€”seemingly all at once. I was recently asked, โ€œHow can I know which good option is best?โ€ I invite you to consider the thoughts I shared as you seek your own answer.
