The homily reminded us that true service is rooted in humility, love, and obedience. Serving at the altar is not about being seen or praised, but about offering ourselves to God wholeheartedly. Through small acts of service, we live out our faith, grow in patience, and learn to serve others with sincerity and compassion.โค๏ธ

This was our first time volunteering here at Cottolengo Filipino St. Luigi Orione in San Rafael, Rodriguez, Rizal. And also our first time caring for children like them. We blurred the faces of the children for their safety and privacy, and before posting any photos or sharing moments, we made sure to ask permission, out of respect for the children and the place.

We came unsure and nervous, not knowing what to expect or how to act, but we were welcomed with smiles that needed no words. As the day went on, our fear slowly turned into understanding, patience, and genuine care. We left with hearts full of love, lessons we never learned inside a classroom, and a deeper gratitude for life and service. It was a humbling experience that reminded us of the value of presence, kindness, and compassion, which we will always carry with us as we look forward to returning and sharing more moments of love and care with these amazing children.โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉนโ˜บ๏ธ

Yesterdayโ€™s homily reminded us to look back with gratitude and to enter the new year with renewed hearts.
