MOVED BY THE SPIRIT
When the Camillians profess their vows, they declare they are "Moved by the Holy Spirit."
For St. Camillus, the Holy Spirit wasn’t a gentle breeze; He was a roaring fire. The Spirit transformed a broken, hot-tempered soldier into the "Saint of the Sick," giving him the supernatural courage to see the face of Christ in the dying and contagious.
To be "moved by the Spirit" means refusing to let our hearts grow numb to human suffering.
Pentecost isn't just history—it's also a current event. Today, the Spirit challenges us personally to:
1. Step out of comfort zones: Moving implies action. Where is the Spirit leading you to show up for someone who is lonely or suffering?
2. Overcome indifference: In a world that often turns a blind eye, we are challenged to be the hands, the listening ear, and the comforting presence of Christ.
Like St. Camillus, let us pray for the courage to stop standing still, and finally let ourselves be moved.
