The Ministry of Altar Servers celebrated Valentine’s Day by offering a simple gift for our Shrine-goers.

“Heavenly Father, we thank You for gathering us as one family in this shrine. As we celebrate St. Valentine, fill the hearts of all shrine goers with Your gentle and faithful love.
Teach us to love not only in words, but in patience, forgiveness, and compassion. May every prayer offered here be rooted in sincere love for You and for one another.
Through the intercession of St. Valentine, strengthen families, deepen friendships, and bless all who come to this sacred place seeking hope and grace.
May this shrine always be a home of peace, unity, and love.”

Being the first image of the Virgin of Lourdes in the country, this Image is Pontifically Crowned by Pope Francis on August 22, 2020, by Most. Rev. Honesto F. Ontiocco D.D. The venerable image is currently enshrine in the NATIONAL SHRINE of OUR LADY of LOURDES QUEZON CITY

𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐦 𝐦𝐨 𝐛𝐚, 𝐦𝐚𝐲𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐦𝐨 𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐚𝐩𝐚 𝐬𝐚 𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐬?

Sa Jaro, Iloilo, makikita ang isang tanyag na imahen ng Birheng Mariang hawak hawak ang batang Hesus. Siya ang Mahal na Birhen ng . Isinisimbulo nito ang pagdadala ni Maria kay Hesus sa templo noong bata pa lamang ito. May hawak siyang Kandila na sumisimbulo sa ‘purification’, at kay Kristo bilang ilaw ng mundo. Nakita ang rebulto noong 1587 nang ito ay matagpuan ng isang pangkat ng mga mangingisda na palutang-lutang sa Ilog Iloilo ngunit hindi nila ito mabuhat dahil sa bigat nito. Nang mapagpasyahan nilang dalhin ang imahe sa Jaro, bigla itong naging magaan at madali nang dalhin. Una itong inilagay sa isang maliit na niche sa facade ng simbahan. Ayon sa alamat, naitala ang paglaki ng rebulto sa paglipas ng mga siglo kaya’t kalaunan ay inilipat ito sa balkonahe. Sa kasalukuyan, ang dambana ng imahe ay naaabot sa pamamagitan ng isang hagdang nakakabit sa hilagang-silangang harapan ng katedral. Maraming mga naitalang milagro kaugnayan sa imaheng ito. Kaya na nga’t taong 1981, nang bumisita si Pope John Paul sa Pilipinas, personal niyang kinoronahan ito. Dahil dito, ang rebulto ang kauna-unahan at kaisa-isang imahe sa Pilipinas na kinoronahan nang pontipikal ng isang Papa at isang santo.

Kasalukuyang makikita ang imahen sa tuktok ng simbahan ng Katedral ng Jaro na siyang puwedeng lapitan ng mga deboto, may sakit, mag-aaral, at may kani-kanilang mga intenstyo’t panalangin
