๐๐๐๐ | DEDICATION OF THE CATHEDRAL-SHRINE AND PARISH OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD - NOVALICHES CATHEDRAL
42 years ago today, on August 19, 1984, the Novaliches Cathedral was dedicated to Jesus, the Good Shepherd by Cardinal Jaime Sin.
The story began on August 5, 1975, when Cardinal Sin established the Parish of the Good Shepherd in Fairview and appointed the late Fr. Fidelis Ruben Limcaco as its first Parish Priest. At that time, the community gathered in a small chapel at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and Regalado Avenue.
As the community grew, the need for a bigger church became clear. On December 10, 1977, His Excellency Archbishop Bruno Torpigliani, then Papal Nuncio to the Philippines, led the groundbreaking and cornerstone-laying for the new church on land generously donated by the Regalado Family.
From a small chapel in 1975 to the Cathedral-Shrine we have today, this church stands as a home for all and a sign of Godโs love and care.
