Witnessing for God’s Love and Grace
Open hearts. Open minds. Open doors.

Starting out as a group of families wanting to build a church to serve the new Philippine capital, the Good Samaritan Church has since grown to become one of the largest United Methodist congregations in the Philippines. Today, as with many UM churches GoodSam has four age-based organizations: Spice Youth, GoodSam's UM Youth Fellowship (UMYF); the UM Young Adults' Fellowship (UMYAF); the United Me

thodist Men (UMM); and the Women's Society for Christian Service (WSCS). GoodSam also has several performing worship groups such as the Chorale Ensemble, Praise and Worship Team. Little Ambassadors for Christ, Jadoh Dance Group, Hands of Praise, WSCS Chimes for Christ, and Handbells for Christ. GoodSam also maintains a mission point in Payatas and Marinduque and is eying to build a mission point in Angat, Bulacan. The church is also supporting two daughter churches: God is Love UMC in Marikina and Teresa UMC in Teresa, Rizal.

Gratitude is a choice we can make even during difficult seasons. We may not understand every circumstance, but we can always remember God's faithfulness. Prayer keeps us connected to Him, joy strengthens our hearts, and thanksgiving changes the way we see life.

PRAYER:
Lord, give me a joyful spirit, a prayerful heart, and a grateful attitude in every season. Amen.

The world often measures worth through appearance, achievement, wealth, or recognition. But our deepest identity comes from God. You are God's creation, known by Him and loved by Him. Your value does not depend on how others see you.

PRAYER:
Lord, help me see myself through Your eyes and live confidently in the purpose You have given me. Amen.

People may not always read a Bible, but they often observe the lives of Christians. Our kindness, honesty, compassion, patience, and faithfulness can become a testimony. Let the way you live point others toward the One you follow.

PRAYER:
Jesus, let Your light shine through my life. Use me to encourage and bless others today. Amen.

Some decisions are too important to make based only on our emotions or understanding. God invites us to seek His wisdom. Through prayer, Scripture, and godly counsel, He helps us discern the path that honors Him.

PRAYER:
Lord, give me wisdom to make decisions that honor You. Help me listen to Your voice. Amen.

Yesterday may have brought mistakes, disappointments, or failures, but God's mercy welcomes us into a new day. We do not have to remain trapped by yesterday. Because of God's grace, we can repent, learn, rise again, and continue walking with Him.

PRAYER:
Lord, thank You for new mercies today. Help me receive Your grace and walk forward with hope. Amen.

We naturally want proof before we believe. But faith teaches us to trust God's promises even when the answer has not yet appeared. Faith looks beyond today's circumstances and holds firmly to the character of God.

PRAYER:
Lord, strengthen my faith when I cannot see what lies ahead. Help me trust Your promises. Amen.

We sometimes think we must be strong, capable, and perfect before God can use us. But Scripture reminds us that God's power can be revealed through our weaknesses. We do not need to pretend to have everything together. We simply need to depend on His grace.

PRAYER:
Lord, thank You that Your grace is enough for me. Help me depend on Your strength rather than my own. Amen.

Sunday Worship Service Recap
August 16, 2026

With grateful hearts, we gathered in worship to glorify God and be strengthened through His Word as we continued our Stewardship Month journey. We were reminded that true stewardship begins with a heart that fully trusts God, and that genuine faith is revealed through a life of faithful obedience.

Through the message, "Faith That Becomes Faithfulness," Rev. Dhan Q. Halog led us to the inspiring story of the Canaanite woman in Matthew 15:21–28. Though she was an outsider with no earthly privilege, she came to Jesus with unwavering trust, persistent prayer, and humble faith. Her story teaches us that faith is more than believing, it is remaining faithful while serving others, persevering through God's silence, and faithfully stewarding everything He has entrusted to us.

Key Takeaways:
- Faith serves by becoming a blessing to others.
- Faith stays, trusting God's heart even while waiting.
- Faith stewards every gift, opportunity, and resource for God's glory.

May our faith grow beyond words and become a faithful witness in the way we love, serve, give, and persevere. As stewards of God's manifold grace, may we faithfully use our lives, time, talents, relationships, and resources to honor Christ and become a blessing to the world around us.

There are moments when human strength, resources, and solutions seem insufficient. Those moments remind us where our ultimate help comes from. The God who created heaven and earth is also the God who hears our prayers and sustains His children.

PRAYER:
Lord, be my help and strength today. Remind me that I am never alone. Amen.
