Starting out as a group of families wanting to build a church to serve the new Philippine capital, the Good Samaritan Church has since grown to become one of the largest United Methodist congregations in the Philippines. Today, as with many UM churches GoodSam has four age-based organizations: Spice Youth, GoodSam's UM Youth Fellowship (UMYF); the UM Young Adults' Fellowship (UMYAF); the United Methodist Men (UMM); and the Women's Society for Christian Service (WSCS). GoodSam also has several performing worship groups such as the Chorale Ensemble, Praise and Worship Team. Little Ambassadors for Christ, Jadoh Dance Group, Hands of Praise, WSCS Chimes for Christ, and Handbells for Christ. GoodSam also maintains a mission point in Payatas and Marinduque and is eying to build a mission point in Angat, Bulacan. The church is also supporting two daughter churches: God is Love UMC in Marikina and Teresa UMC in Teresa, Rizal.

Christian faith is not meant to remain inside the church building. It should be seen in how we treat people, serve our communities, forgive others, and respond to those in need. Our actions can become a living testimony of God's love.

Prayer:
Lord, let my faith be visible through the way I live and serve others. Amen.

God calls not only pastors and church leaders but every believer to participate in His mission. Our homes, workplaces, schools, communities, and churches are places where we can live out our faith. As we celebrate Laity Month, may we remember that every member has gifts, a purpose, and a role in building God's Kingdom.

Prayer:
Lord, show me how I can use my gifts and life to serve You and bless others. Amen.

Second Worship Service

With hearts open to God’s Word, we gathered in worship as we celebrated the culmination of Christian Education Month, giving thanks for the ways God continues to teach, transform, and call us to faithful discipleship.

Our Guest Speaker, Dss. Carmy Erika C. Bumanlag, shared the message “Love Boldly Through Faithful Stewardship,” based on Matthew 21:33–46. Through the Parable of the Tenants, we were reminded that everything God has entrusted to us calls for faithful care, responsible stewardship, and love expressed through action.

Takeaways:
* Recognize what God has entrusted to us - Creation, resources, and our communities are gifts that call us to responsible care.
* Stewardship is an expression of bold love - Loving boldly means caring for creation, standing with vulnerable communities, and seeking the flourishing of others.
* Use what is entrusted to us faithfully - Our gifts, resources, and influence are meant to serve the common good, not selfish interests.
* Produce good fruits - Faithful stewardship calls us to persevere in doing what is good, just, peaceful, and life-giving.

We also give thanks for the presence of Ds. Andrea Mary Ojeñar Agovida-Valeroso and our Global Mission Fellows, who joined us in this meaningful celebration. Their presence and fellowship reminded us of the beauty of sharing in God’s mission together.

May we continue to Love Boldly through Faithful Stewardship, remembering that we are not owners but stewards of what God has entrusted to us. May our learning lead to action, our faith lead to service, and our love lead us to care for God’s creation and one another.

First Worship Service

With hearts full of gratitude, we gathered in our First Worship Service to celebrate the culmination of our Christian Education Month and to be reminded that learning God’s Word should lead us toward faithful obedience and action.

Through the message, “From ‘Yes’ to ‘Go’: Christian Education: Learning That Leads to Obedience,” Ptr Alfred C. Mendoza challenged us through Matthew 21:23–32 to move beyond simply knowing and hearing God’s Word. Like the first son who eventually went to work in the vineyard, we are called to let our faith become action and our “Yes” become “Go.”

Takeaways:
- Learn God’s Word by allowing His Word to guide our lives.
- Live God’s Word by allowing it to transform our hearts and actions.
- Go Do God’s Will by turning what we have learned into faithful service and obedience.

May our Christian Education journey continue beyond the classroom, Bible study, and worship service. May what we learn from God’s Word shape who we become in Christ and inspire us to serve wherever God calls us.

Let us remember: We have learned. Now let us live. We have heard. Now let us obey. We have said YES. Now let us GO.

We never know what another person may be carrying silently. A smile, encouraging word, helping hand, or simple act of kindness can make a difference. When we choose kindness, we become instruments through whom God's love can reach others.

Prayer:
Lord, make me sensitive to the needs of others. Use my words and actions to bring encouragement today. Amen.

Grace reminds us that God does not give up on us. We may stumble, make mistakes, or fall short, but God's grace continues to meet us where we are. His grace does not leave us there. It gives us strength to grow and become more like Christ.

Prayer:

Every new month is an invitation to begin again with God. Whatever happened yesterday, today gives us another opportunity to reflect Christ through our words, choices, and relationships. As United Methodists, we are called to live out our faith through love and service. Let October be a month where God's love becomes visible through our lives.

Prayer:
Lord, guide me throughout this new month. Help me love boldly, serve joyfully, and live faithfully for You. Amen.

LAITY MONTH 2026 IS HERE!

This October, we celebrate the gift, calling, and ministry of the laity as we come together in worship, fellowship, and service.

Our theme for this year is:
“Love Boldly: Embracing and Embodying Our Membership Vow”

Throughout the month, we will be blessed by different Lay Speakers who will share God’s Word and their reflections, reminding us of our calling as members of Christ’s Church.

May this Laity Month inspire us to embrace our Membership Vow not only in words, but in the way we live our faith, serve others, witness for Christ, and love boldly.

Our Laity Month Worship Journey begins this Sunday, October 4!

Come, worship with us, and let us journey together as we Love Boldly and Live Out Our Membership Vow.
