Our Lord of Divine Mercy Council 12259 holds its regular meeting at our parish pastoral center, Centro Divino.

Awards received during the State Convention were proudly presented to our Council Chaplain and Parish Priest, Fr. Herbie Santos.

We also welcomed our newly exemplified Brother Knight and his Spouse. The Ladies Auxiliary, composed of the spouses of Brother Knights, is a very active part of our council and vital to the success of our endeavors.

As we commemorate the Anniversary of Philippine Independence, we are reminded that Patriotism is deeply ingrained in the core of the KOC.

"On 26 May 2020, the Holy Father Francis received His Most Reverend Eminence Cardinal Angelo Becciu, Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints. During the audience, the Supreme Pontiff authorized the same congregation to promulgate the decrees concerning:

- the miracle, attributed to the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God Michael McGivney, diocesan priest, founder of the [...] Knights of Columbus; born on August 12, 1852 in Waterbury (United States of America) and died in Thomaston (United States of America) on August 14, 1890; [...]"

As more and more people are being hospitalized, there is an ever increasing need for safe, donated blood supply.

Even during this pandemic, our Brother Knights from Our Lord of Divine Mercy Council 12259 in the Philippines responded to this need.

Working together with community-based blood donor groups and volunteers, our Brother Knights led by our Grand Knight, organized a Mass Blood Donation Activity on May 6, 2020, for the benefit of a government hospital, treating a large number of CoViD-19 patients among other cases.

Face masks and Rosary Kits with Prayer Guides were also distributed to all those who joined the activity.

Organizing and conducting such an activity proved to be a challenge, as strict physical distancing had to be observed. Donors needed to be rigorously screened and interviewed, must be in good health and do not exhibit any symptoms of sickness. These measures help ensure safe blood, as well as protect the Medical Team.

We express our thanks to the donors, volunteers, sponsors, medical team and all those who supported this worthy activity. Vivat Jesus! 🙏😊

A PRAYER FOR PROTECTION IN TIME OF PANDEMIC

O Mary, you always brighten our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who, at the Cross, took part in Jesus’ pain while remaining steadfast in faith.

O loving Mother, you know what we need, and we are confident you will provide for us as at Cana in Galilee. Intercede for us with your Son Jesus, the Divine Physician, for those who have fallen ill, for those who are vulnerable, and for those who have died. Intercede also for those charged with protecting the health and safety of others and for those who are tending to the sick and seeking a cure.

Help us, O Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who took upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows, so as to lead us, through the Cross, to the glory of the Resurrection. Amen.

Under thy protection we seek refuge, O Holy Mother of God. In our needs, despise not our petitions, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin.

Amen.
