August PPC General Assembly
With hearts united in prayer and a shared commitment to our parish mission, the Parish Pastoral Council gathered for its General Assembly on August 23 at the Bulwagang Claret Annex, carrying the theme, “One Heart, One Faith, One Family: Preparing for the Next Chapter of Our Parish Mission.”
The gathering began with a Bible Enthronement, placing God’s Word at the heart of the Assembly. This was followed by the welcome remarks of our Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Dennis Tamayo, CMF, who guided the meeting and led the Assembly through the various matters for discernment and action.
The PPC then reflected on parish life and ministry updates, Church restoration and improvement projects, stewardship and financial matters, and other important parish concerns.
A major focus of the Assembly was the Solemn Dedication of Our Church and Altar on September 7. The PPC discussed its spiritual and pastoral significance, the overall program and liturgical preparations, the roles and responsibilities of the various parish ministries, and coordination with the Diocese and invited clergy and guests.
Particular attention was given to the readiness of our Church and Altar. The Council reviewed the ongoing cleaning and restoration, preparations for the altar, ambo, and baptismal area, the Dedication Crosses and Dedication Marker, as well as lighting, sound, and other technical requirements. Remaining repair concerns, particularly roof and leakage issues, were also discussed, together with the final timeline, critical tasks, and assignment of responsibilities leading up to September 7.
The Council also looked beyond the Dedication, preparing for the September 11–12 Parish Team Building and beginning the discernment and planning that will guide our parish mission in the next chapter. Priority areas include faith formation and evangelization, BEC and parish life, stewardship, youth and families, shrine development, social action and care for creation, communications and digital evangelization, and parish administration and sustainability.
As we journey toward the Dedication and into the future, may we continue to listen to God’s Word, discern together, and serve with generous hearts. May the renewal of our sacred space also inspire a renewal of our lives and our commitment to the mission entrusted to our parish.
From Dedication to Mission: One Heart, One Faith, One Family.
