The fifth day of the Plenary Assembly on July 25 focused on servant leadership, regional collaboration, and Eucharistic spirituality as bishops and delegates continued discerning the Church's synodal journey in Asia.
During the Feast of St. James the Apostle, Cardinal Anthony Poola, President of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India, reminded bishops that their vocation is rooted not in honor or authority but in humble service after the example of Christ. Delegates also gathered for regional discussions to strengthen collaboration among the local Churches of Asia following the Assembly's work on a Vademecum for Synodality in Asia.
In the afternoon, Pope Leo XIV addressed the Assembly through a video message, encouraging the Church in Asia to deepen its Eucharistic spirituality as the source of communion, unity, and its mission to become authentic bridge builders across the continent.
