WE ANNOUNCE WITH JOY THE LOGO OF CMY 11TH FOUNDATION ANNIVERSARY!

Driven Eleven: Juan and Mary in our One Mission

The male figure represents Juan, symbolizing the Filipino people and Saint John of the Cross in his special jubilee year. The female figure represents the Blessed Virgin Mary, our companion and guide in the mission. The path leading to the cross symbolizes our journey toward Christ through service and discipleship. The cross, fire, and sunrays reflect our call to live a Eucharistic life and to continue serving, leading, and inspiring with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The rosary reminds us that through Mary’s accompaniment, every prayer is always led closer to Jesus.

“La Bruna,” meaning “The Brown One,” is the oldest Marian icon adopted by the Carmelites and is a Byzantine-style image of the Blessed Virgin Mary holding the Child Jesus in a tender embrace, symbolizing Mary’s loving closeness to Christ and to the faithful. The original icon is preserved in the Basilica of Carmine Maggiore in Naples and is traditionally believed to have come from Mount Carmel during the early history of the Carmelite Order. On May 27, the Church in Naples commemorates Our Lady of Naples under the title Santa Maria della Bruna, honoring the deep Marian devotion connected to this sacred image and the many graces attributed to her intercession through the centuries.

Flower of Carmel,
blossoming vine;
Splendor of heaven,
Mother benign;
None like to thee.
Mother of meekness,
peerless thou art;
To Carmel’s children,
favors impart;
Star of the sea.

THE MEMORARE
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
Our Lady of Virtues, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, we fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, our mother; to you do we come, before you we stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not our petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer us.
Amen.

amiable and skillful gardener, into your hands I leave my crown; into your sacred hands I
commend my virtues. Guard them, protect them, water them, cultivate them and perfect them.
