RENEWING OUR MIND, RESTORING OUR HEART
Sermon Highlights & Reflection

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."
— Romans 12:2

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh."
— Ezekiel 36:26

🚨 I. Our Problem: Conformed Minds and Hardened Hearts

A. What We Were Before Christ

"So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed."
— Ephesians 4:17-19

B. The Danger of Staying Unchanged

As a result of staying unchanged, our conformity to the world brings emptiness, confusion, and distance from God.

🛠️ II. God's Solution: A Renewed Mind and a Transforming Heart

A. Renewing the Mind: Changing How We Think

• The Source of Renewal: God's Word is our ultimate source (Hebrews 4:12).
• The Power of the Word: God's Word judges our thoughts and attitudes; it is the vital tool that changes the heart.
• Our Goal: We need to align ourselves completely with God's will.

B. Transforming the Heart: Changing What You Love and Desire

We often face a spiritual battle within ourselves:

"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do, I do not do, but what I hate, I do... For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing."
— Romans 7:15, 19

But God promises a beautiful exchange and a fresh start:

"A new heart also will give you, and a new spirit will put within you, and I will take away the Stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh."
— Ezekiel 36:26

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
— 2 Corinthians 5:17

How do we guard and draw closer to this transformation?

"Ang puson mo'y ingatan mabuti at alagaan, pagkat uyan ang siyang bukal ng buhay mong tinataglay."
— Proverbs 4:23

"Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded."
— James 4:8

The result of a transformed heart is supernatural fruit:

"But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control."
— Galatians 5:22-23

🌱 Practical Steps to Live a Transformed Life:
1. Immerse in Scripture daily.📖
2. Pray continually.🙏
3. Replace lies with truth.🛡️
4. Live in community.👥
5. Take action immediately.🏃‍♂️

🔥 III. The Power Behind Transformation: The Holy Spirit

• We cannot change ourselves. Only God can do this work in us.

"Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty."
— Zechariah 4:6

• Our responsibility: We simply need to cooperate and yield to the work of the Holy Spirit.

🎯 Conclusion & Application

Renewing our minds means filling them with God's truth, while transforming our hearts means allowing God to change our deepest desires. Both are supernatural works of the Holy Spirit, moving alongside our willingness to cooperate.

Application for this week:

Let us stop letting the world shape and mold us. Instead, let's completely surrender our minds and hearts to God today. Let Him make you new from the inside out! 🙌 Let's reflect on this truth throughout the week.

🌸 The Mother as Bearer of Faith, Love, and God’s Purpose 🌸

Motherhood is more than a role—it is a divine calling. Today, we look at how mothers carry and deliver three of God's greatest treasures to their families and the world: Faith, Love, and Purpose.

I. The Bearer of FAITH: Trusting God in the Unknown
True faith surrenders our personal plans to God’s perfect plan, trusting Him even when the future is unclear.

Faith that Says “Let It Be”
• Luke 1:26-38: When faced with the humanly impossible, Mary gave us the ultimate example of surrender: “I am the Lord’s servant. May your word to me be fulfilled.”
• The Lesson: Faith trusts God's promises over our circumstances.

Faith that Acts in Obedience
• 1 Kings 17:8-16: The Widow of Zarephath obeyed God's word through Elijah, even when she only had one meal left.
• The Lesson: Radical obedience unlocks God’s supernatural miracles.

II. The Bearer of LOVE: Sacrificial and Generous
Real love is not measured by how much we have, but by how much we are willing to pour out for others.

Love that Perseveres for Family
• 2 Kings 4:2-7: A desperate widow was told by Elisha to gather empty jars and pour her last drop of oil. She kept pouring in faith, and the oil didn't stop until every jar was full.
• The Lesson: A mother’s love takes action and actively seeks provision for her children.

Love that Gives Freely
• Luke 1:38: Mary willingly gave up her reputation, comfort, and plans out of love for God and His calling.
• The Lesson: Love is about being a vessel that God can freely pour through.

III. The Bearer of GOD’S PURPOSE: Leaving a Spiritual Legacy
Mothers don't just raise children; they shape history and plant seeds of destiny.

Passing the Baton of Truth
• 2 Timothy 1:3-5: Paul reminds Timothy of the “sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice.”
• The Lesson: The greatest inheritance a mother can leave is a vibrant, living faith.

Shaping Character and Calling
• 2 Timothy 1:6-7: “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.”
• The Lesson: Mothers plant seeds of courage, kindness, and wisdom, helping their children fan into flame the gifts God has placed inside them.

📌 In Conclusion...

Like Mary, may our mothers carry a faith that trusts God through every unknown.

Like the Widows, may they be strengthened to love sacrificially and witness God's endless provision.

Like Eunice and Lois, may they build a lasting legacy of faith that transforms generations to come.

💖 Call to Action

THE ORIGINAL DESIGN: Created to Reflect His Glory ✨
Genesis 1:26-27 | Ecclesiastes 7:29 | James 3:9

🛠️ RESTORING WHAT WAS LOST: Renewed in His Image
2 Corinthians 5:17

🌿 New Creation — Stewardship of Life

2 Corinthians 5:17
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"

We are a "New Creation in Christ"! Because God created us in His own image, we are called to live as His representatives here on earth.

What It Means to Be a Steward in Christ?
A steward is someone who manages what belongs to another. We are accountable to the true Owner of our lives, God.

✓ Key Characteristics of a Christ Steward

• Recognize God’s Ownership: Nothing we have is our own; everything is a gift given by God’s grace.

• Living with Intentionality: We should use every part of our life to honor God and serve others.

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters..." (Colossians 3:23-24)*

• Depend on God’s Strength: We cannot live faithfully in our own power; the Holy Spirit empowers us.

✓ Areas of Stewardship of Life

1. Stewardship of Our Identity and Heart: We present ourselves as living sacrifices, transformed by God’s truth.

2. Stewardship of Our Gifts and Abilities: We use what God has given us to build up His people and advance His kingdom.

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace..." (1 Peter 4:10)

3. Stewardship of Our Resources and Time: We manage finances, opportunities, and days wisely, understanding they are tools for God’s work.

"Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity..." (Ephesians 5:15-16)

🎯 Our Goal and Hope as Faithful Stewards
• Accountability (Luke 16:10-12): Being trusted with "very little" is the true test of how we will handle "true riches."
• Rewards and Joy (Matthew 25:21): Our ultimate hope is to hear the Master say: "Well done, good and faithful servant! Come and share your master's happiness!"

Conclusion:
As new creations, we are not owners but managers, called to live each day in service to God and in love for others.

Reflection & Application:
* What areas of your life have you been treating as your own, rather than as gifts from God?
* Ask God to help you be a faithful steward in one specific area of your life this week.
* Depend on the Holy Spirit to give you the strength and wisdom to live out this calling.

Celebrating Every Effort

To everyone who clocks in, stays late, and pours their energy into making the world turn: we see you. Labor Day is a tribute to your dedication, your resilience, and the dignity you find in your daily grind. Take a well-deserved moment to rest and recharge.

A Special Note for Our Church Family

Beyond the professional world, there is a different kind of labor —one fueled by faith and love.

To our church volunteers and workers: the greeters, the tech team, the Sunday school teachers, the cleaners, and the musicians, thank you! You are the hands and feet of the community. Even when your work feels "behind the scenes" or goes unthanked by many, remember that the Lord sees your hard work.

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." — Colossians 3:23

Your labor is not in vain, and your heart for service is a light to us all. Happy Labor Day!
