“Kung mabuti ang Diyos, bakit tayo naghihirap?”

Isa itong tanong na madaling itanong kapag mabigat ang pinagdadaanan natin. Ngunit sa Romans 8, ipinaalala sa atin noong nakaraang Linggo na ang suffering ay hindi ebidensya na nawala ang kabutihan ng Diyos.

In fact, the clearest picture of God’s goodness in the midst of suffering is Jesus Christ Himself. He suffered, He was crucified, and He died—but the story did not end at the cross. He rose again, ascended to heaven, and became our living hope.
Kaya kahit totoo ang sakit, pagkawala, problema, at kahirapan natin ngayon, may mas malaking katotohanan tayong pinanghahawakan:

“Our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” — Romans 8:18

Hindi natin kailangang magkunwaring madali ang lahat. We can acknowledge the pain and still trust that God is working. At kapag wala na tayong masabi o hindi na natin alam kung ano ang ipapanalangin, the Holy Spirit Himself helps us in our weakness.

So let us hold on to these simple reminders:

Rejoice in hope.
Be patient in affliction.
Be faithful in prayer.

Our suffering is real—but it is not the end of our story.

Jesus is alive. Our hope remains. God is still good.

Mga kapatid, how are you po?

Bago tayo sumamba bukas, alalahanin natin ang mensaheng ibinahagi ni Dr. Marvin Layug noong nakaraang Linggo: “God’s Goodness and the Suffering of Humankind.”

Kapag dumadaan tayo sa hirap, sakit, pagkawala, o mabibigat na pagsubok, natural lamang na itanong: “Kung mabuti ang Diyos, bakit may paghihirap?” But Scripture reminds us that suffering does not mean that God has stopped being good.

The goodness of God is part of who He is. From creation, God has shown His love, grace, mercy, compassion, and care toward His creation. His goodness is not dependent on whether our circumstances are easy or difficult.

Sin brought brokenness, pain, hardship, and death into the world. Yet even after humanity’s fall, God’s goodness did not stop. His plan and provision were already in place, and through Jesus Christ He continues to work toward redemption and restoration.
And even in our weakness, we are not alone. The Holy Spirit is with us, helping us and interceding for us in the midst of suffering.

So whatever season we are in today, let us remember:

The goodness of God is unstoppable.
Kahit may paghihirap, kahit may luha, kahit hindi natin agad naiintindihan ang nangyayari—God is still good, and He is still at work.

Kumusta mga kapatid?

Bago tayo sumamba bukas, alalahanin natin ang mensaheng ibinahagi ni Dr. Marvin Layug noong nakaraang Linggo: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐝’𝐬 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞.

Madaling sabihin na “Mahal tayo ng Diyos.” At totoo naman—John 3:16 reminds us that God loved the world and demonstrated that love by giving His Son, Jesus Christ. But receiving God’s love also calls for a response. Ang pag-ibig ng Diyos na ating tinanggap ay dapat makita at maipakita sa ating buhay.

Jesus reminds us in Mark 12:30–31:
𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭, 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐥, 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡, a𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐛𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟. These are not two separate things. They are two sides of the same coin. Ang tunay na pagmamahal sa Diyos ay makikita rin sa paraan ng pagmamahal natin sa ating kapwa.

At sino ang ating “neighbor”? Hindi lamang ang ating kapitbahay, kaibigan, o mga taong madaling mahalin. Kasama rito ang mga taong nakakasalamuha natin araw-araw—even those who disappoint us, hurt us, or sometimes become a source of stress. Instead of revenge or bitterness, we are called to be understanding, considerate, kind, and good.

Sa mundong madaling magalit at mahirapang magmahal, may pagkakataon ang Church na ipakita kung ano ang 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞.

𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐲𝐨𝐬. 𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐤𝐚𝐩𝐰𝐚. 𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐞 𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐝’𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞. ❤️
