Last August 22, the Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Hope Ministry of Lectors and Commentators held its annual Training Workshop at the House of Beatitudes.

The workshop focused on deepening the ministersโ€™ knowledge of various liturgical celebrations and strengthening their familiarity with the protocols necessary for faithful and reverent service. The sessions covered the Rite of Matrimony, Rite of Funerals, Lauds and Vespers, and Forgotten Protocols, including a refresher on how to properly read the Ordo and locate the appropriate readings using the Appendix.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the members of the MLC Training Committee who generously shared their knowledge, experience, and guidance throughout the workshop. Through continued formation and training, our lectors and commentators remain ever-ready to proclaim the Word and serve the liturgy with reverence and dedication.

The Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Hope Ministry of Lectors and Commentators is currently holding its annual training workshop at the Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Hope Parish House of Beatitudes.

The workshop is about strengthening the ministryโ€™s mission of proclaiming the Word of God through sessions on Funeral Rites, Matrimony Rites, Lauds & Vespers, as well as forgotten protocols and handbook rules alike.

Through this formation, lectors and commentators will be renewed in their calling to be living instruments of Godโ€™s Wordโ€”proclaiming it with clarity, reverence, and faith.

After three months of weekly training, formation, and discernment, we joyfully congratulate the Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Hope Ministry of Lectors and Commentators Batch 2026 as they celebrate their first month of faithful service in proclaiming God's Word during the Sacred Liturgy.

As they continue their journey as proclaimers of the Word, some members will be serving as weekday commentators throughout the month of August, while others will continue to deepen their ministry as lectors, with the goal of being able to serve as commentators this coming September. May this season of continued learning and service strengthen their confidence, reverence, and love for the sacred ministry entrusted to them.

May the Lord continue to bless and guide each one of you as you faithfully proclaim His Word and lead His people in prayer. Congratulations once again, Batch 2026! May your hearts always remain humble, your voices steadfast, and your service a reflection of God's enduring love.
