Seeing to Believe – Faith in Doubt”
Embracing Faith Even When We Face Uncertainty
The world says, "I’ll believe it when I see it."
But the Kingdom of God says, "Believe, and then you will see." That is what we call FAITH. Faith isn’t the absence of doubt; it’s the choice to trust God even when the path ahead is unclear.
I. What Is Faith? 📖
"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." — Hebrews 11:1
• Faith vs. Sight: We live by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).
• The Eternal Perspective: Sight limits us to what is temporary, but faith opens our eyes to what is eternal.
• Beyond Reality: Faith doesn’t ignore the facts of our situation; it simply looks past them to see God’s greater plan.
II. Doubt: A Normal Part of the Journey
Doubt is not the same as unbelief. Often, doubt is just faith struggling with uncertainty—a sign that we care enough to ask deep questions.
In Mark 9:24, a father cried out: "I believe; help overcome my unbelief!" Jesus didn't turn him away. He honored that honest heart and healed his son.
III. Embracing Faith in Uncertainty
How do we practically choose faith when we feel unsure? Here are four ways to stay grounded:
1. Anchor Yourself in God’s Wor
Circumstances shift like the sand, but God’s promises are unchanging.
"Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path."
—Psalm 119:105
2. Bring Your Doubts Honestly to God
Don't hide your fears. Prayer isn't just about getting answers; it’s about finding His peace.
"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."
— 1 Peter 5:7
3. Take Steps of Obedience
Faith is active! It often starts with one small step. You don't need to understand the whole map to trust the One who is leading you.
4. Remember That God is Working
Even when we can’t see it, He is busy behind the scenes.
Our uncertainty isn't the end of the story.
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him..." — Romans 8:28
Conclusion: The Promise
Right now, life can feel like looking into a foggy mirror. But we hold onto this hope: One day, we will see clearly.
"For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face." — 1 Corinthians 13:12
