Congratulations to the newly ordained priests! 🤩🎉 AMDG+

The Society of Jesus in the Philippines joyfully celebrated the Ordination to the Presbyterate of our brothers:

Fr. Dom Joseph B. Bulan, SJ
Fr. Bien Emmanuel C. Cruz, SJ
Fr. James Augustus R. Santos, SJ

through the imposition of hands and the prayer
of ordination by His Eminence Pablo Virgilio Cardinal David.

The ordination was held on 30 May 2026 (Saturday) at 8:30 AM at the Church of the Gesù inside Ateneo de Manila University, Loyola Heights, Quezon City.

Fr. Provincial Xavier Olin, SJ sent these new priests to their mission: Fr. Dom to Philippine Jesuit Prison Service (PJPS), Fr. Bien to the Bukidnon Mission District particularly to Maria Reyna sa Pulangi Parish in Zamboanguita as assistant parish priest and Apu Palamguwan Cultural Education Center as part-time chaplain, and Fr. James to Myanmar Jesuit Region particularly to Faber Jesuit Communtiy in Taunggyi and St. Aloysius Gonzaga Institute of Higher Studies.

Inspired by the words of John 10:11,14 — “I am the good shepherd. A good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep… I know mine and mine know me," the celebration became an occasion of thanksgiving for the gift of vocation and priestly service. Family members, friends, Jesuits, and members of the faithful gathered in prayer and gratitude as the newly ordained priests offered their lives in service to God and His people. 1. For those attending the Ordination onsite, you may present a copy of the invitation below at the gate entrances on May 30, Saturday. E-jeeps will also be available for those entering the campus via the pedestrian gates.

2. In keeping with the spirit of the times, we humbly invite those attending the Ordination Mass to bring canned goods or sandwich spreads for the patients and watchers of the Philippine General Hospital through the Jesuit Chaplaincy of PGH, and bars of bath soap for our brothers incarcerated at the New Bilibid Prison through the Philippine Jesuit Prison Service. These donations will be collected by our friends from PJPS at the entrance of the Church of the Gesù before the celebration begins.

Likewise, monetary donations collected during the offertory will be given either to the San Francisco Javier Jesuit Mission Station in Tikalaan, Bukidnon, or to the ongoing assistance for displaced migrants through Tanging Yaman foundation and Fr. Henry Ponce, SJ.

Let us pray for our Arrupeans as they start their Arrupe Month from 25 May to 26 June 2026.

“Arrupe Month” is a special time in Jesuit institutions dedicated to reflecting on the life, spirituality, and mission of Pedro Arrupe, former Superior General of the Society of Jesus. It usually includes prayer, service, recollections, and activities that promote faith, justice, compassion for the poor, and the Ignatian ideal of becoming “men and women for others.

Not all Jesuits preach from the pulpit alone. Some preach through classrooms, community life, and even through music.

Fr. Arnel Aquino, SJ serves the mission of the Society of Jesus as professor of Systematic Theology at Loyola School of Theology and as a formator of young Jesuits in Arrupe International Residence. Through teaching and formation, he helps shape minds and hearts for the service of the Church.

But Fr. Arnel also evangelizes through music.
Gifted with remarkable talent as a pianist and composer, he has written songs that have helped many pray, reflect, heal, and encounter God more deeply. His music reminds us that vocation is not limited to one talent or one ministry. In the Society of Jesus, the Lord uses every gift — intellect, creativity, prayer, and artistry — for His greater glory.

The Jesuit vocation is not about becoming only one thing. It is about offering your whole self to God and allowing Him to use your gifts in ways you may never have imagined.

Maybe the talent you carry today is also part of the mission God is preparing for you.

Mother of quiet yes, in hidden rooms of grace,
