HEY, YOUTH! STOP BEGGING—YOU’RE AN HEIR, NOT A HUSTLER!
Ever feel like you’re always asking for something—for good grades, for help with friends, for things you need—and it feels like you’re just… waiting forever? Well, a lot of us Christians do the same with God. We’re so used to begging for stuff we think we don’t have… but here’s the tea: IT’S ALREADY OURS.
We’ve been taught to “ask and ask” like we’re trying to negotiate with God—like we have to “earn” His blessings by being super good or praying extra long. But that’s not how it works!
Think of it like this: If your rich lola left you a huge inheritance in her will, you wouldn’t beg her for it—you’d just claim what’s yours, right? That’s exactly who we are in Christ: HEIRS.
When Jesus said “IT IS FINISHED” on the cross, He didn’t just say “we’ll get good stuff later.” He meant everything we need—healing when we’re sick, help when we’re broke, peace when life’s crazy, and even what we need to live a purposeful life (2 Peter 1:3)—was already locked in for us THEN. No waiting, no “proving ourselves” required.
So how do we actually claim what’s ours?
1. BELIEVE IT’S YOURS—RIGHT NOW
Don’t wait to “see it first.” Mark 11:24 says we gotta believe we already have it before it shows up. Like when you study for a test—you don’t wait to see your grade to believe you aced it; you trust your prep and act like it’s done!
2. SPEAK WHAT GOD SAYS
Romans 10:10 says faith works when we say what we believe. If God says you’re strong, say “I’m strong in Christ”—don’t mumble about being weak! Your words are like a bridge between what’s true spiritually and what shows up in real life.
3. THANK HIM FIRST
Jesus didn’t wait for Lazarus to wake up to say thanks—He thanked God before anything happened. Try it: When you’re stressed about something, thank Him that it’s already solved. Gratitude shows you trust His word more than your worries.
4. ACT LIKE IT’S ALREADY YOURS
Faith without action is just empty talk (James 2:17). If you’re claiming peace, stop stressing like everything’s falling apart. If you’re claiming provision, stop acting like you’ll never have enough. Walk like the heir you are!
The bottom line? We don’t have to hustle or beg God for what’s already ours. Ephesians 1:3 says all spiritual blessings are already ours in Christ.
So let’s stop acting like we’re asking for scraps—and start living like the heirs we were made to be!
