"Delays And Detours"

When Pharaoh finally let the people go, GOD did not lead them along the main road that runs through Philistine territory, even though that was the shortest route to the Promised Land.
GOD said, "If the people are faced with a battle, they might change their minds and return to Egypt."
So GOD led them in a roundabout way through the wilderness toward the Red Sea. Thus the Israelites left Egypt like an army ready for battle. -Exodus 13:17-18 New (NLT)

~The strength of patience hangs on our capacity to believe that GOD is
up to something good for us in all our delays and detours. (John Piper)

Prayer: Dear LORD, grant me patience as I await Your answer to my prayers. Teach me to be still in the midst of the storms, for Your timing is always perfect—never too early, never too late. Remind me that, in every delay and detour, You are working for my good. I praise and thank YOU, in JESUS' Name, Amen.

“Never Be Disappointed”

And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. -Romans 5:5 (NLT)

~Understand that everyone may disappoint you at some point, and know that you, too, will occasionally disappoint others. It’s better to forgive quickly and heal than to hold grudges. When you expect others to treat you as you treat them, remember that not everyone has the same heart as you. There will be times when expectations only lead to disappointments. (InspirationalDevotion)

Prayer: Dear Lord, please forgive me when I feel disappointed in others. Thank you for reminding me that those who trust in You will not be disappointed. Help me to be more understanding and loving, remembering that I too may sometimes disappoint others. Remind me not to expect anything in return when I show kindness or do good for others. Let it all be because of Your love and kindness working through Your Holy Spirit in my life. Thank You, in Jesus' Name, Amen.

“Spiritual Tests”

While God was testing him, Abraham still trusted in God and his promises, and so he offered up his son Isaac and was ready to slay him on the altar of sacrifice; yes, to slay even Isaac, through whom God had promised to give Abraham a whole nation of descendants!
He believed that if Isaac died God would bring him back to life again; and that is just about what happened, for as far as Abraham was concerned, Isaac was doomed to death, but he came back again alive! -Hebrews 11:17-19 (Living Bible)

~A faith that hasn't been tested can't be trusted. (AdrianRogers/DailyDevotion)

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I come to You with a humble heart, seeking renewed faith. Please forgive me for times of doubt and struggle. Help me grow closer to You through Your Word, finding hope and courage in Your promises. Let my faith remind me of Your love and power, and give me strength to face challenges, knowing You are with me. Thank You for testing my faith to make it stronger. I trust in Your plan for my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.

“Cultivate A Spirit Of Patience And Joy”

Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way. -James 1:2-4 (MSG)

~When productivity feels impossible and interruptions multiply, I remind myself of how Jesus handled distractions.
Jesus didn’t turn little children away; He welcomed them into His arms (Mark 10:13-16). He didn’t scold the bleeding woman who touched the hem of His garment while He was on His way to Jairus’ home; instead, He healed her (Luke 8:40-48). Jesus is the ultimate example of how to handle interruptions with grace and purpose…
When seen through the eyes of Christ, interruptions aren’t delays or intrusions at all. Interruptions are opportunities to live out the Word and follow in the footsteps of our King. (Proverbs31Ministries)

Prayer: Dear God, I know that interruptions are inevitable. By Your grace, please help me learn to see them as opportunities to live like Christ, love others, and trust You with each moment. Cultivate a spirit of patience and joy in me so I can respond in a way that honors You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

“Connect Both With God And Others”

“Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.” -1 Peter 4:9 (NIV)

~It’s God’s idea for us to live in community with others. He is a relational God who designed us in His image. We are created to connect both with God and others. We need friends with whom we can enjoy life.
The Apostle Peter instructed the early Church to “offer hospitality to one another without grumbling” (1 Peter 4:9). These believers met daily for prayer and shared meals. While “daily” might be unrealistic for us, the point is they spent time in each other’s homes.
How might inviting friends over for dinner, coffee or dessert open opportunities for deeper conversations and connections?
What has most often made you hesitate to invite others into your home? How might you move past your hesitation? (Proverbs31Ministries)

Prayer: Lord God, Your Word teaches that we’re to offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Forgive me for the times when I’ve grumbled. Create within me a welcoming spirit so I’m able to foster deeper connections in our lonely world. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

“GOD Is Growing Us”

“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” -Luke 2:52 (NIV)

~Our key verse, Luke 2:52, grants us insight: God is growing us.
In Jesus’ hidden years, He “grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man” (Luke 2:52), mentally, physically, spiritually and relationally.
So perhaps when we feel unseen and unapplauded, overlooked and underestimated, we, too, can take courage.
When we consider how the Father choreographed the life of His Son, it becomes clear: God doesn’t hide us to punish us. He hides us to protect us. In fact, I believe that hidden years are the surprising birthplace of Christlike, indestructible strength! (Proverbs31Ministries)

Prayer: Father, You know my tendency to mistake the unseen for unimportant and to become discouraged when my dreams are delayed. I look to Your Son. Help me, my God, to trust Your heart and make peace with Your pace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

“Let GOD Direct Your Steps”

Commit your works to the Lord [submit and trust them to Him], And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance]. -Proverbs 16:3 (Amplified Bible)

~Because He is so trustworthy, I can find confidence to do what Proverbs 16:3 instructs: “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” Whenever my plans go off course, I can lean back and trust that God and I simply made a right turn so we could head in the new direction He intends for us to go.
Has your day just started and your schedule already altered from what you anticipated? Breathe deeply and surrender your activities and intentions to the Lord. Let Him direct your steps toward what He has planned for you today. (Proverbs31Ministries)

Prayer: Dear Lord, right now, I relinquish the hours of my day to You. I’ll make my plans, but I’ll hold them loosely, looking to You to direct me and change course as You think best. Thank You in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

“Gray-Area Decision”

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” -James 1:5 (ESV)

~We encounter a lot of decisions in motherhood that don’t seem to have a clear right or wrong answer. Those “gray areas” — or everyday motherhood decisions not explicitly addressed in Scripture — can easily trip us up, making us feel paralyzed and anxious.
Asking God for wisdom is our first step when faced with a gray-area decision.
As we learn to negotiate the gray areas of life using gospel-inspired wisdom, we can walk in freedom, able to live for God’s glory without fear, guilt or shame. (Proverbs31Ministries)

Prayer: Father, give me wisdom for decisions that I don’t have a clear answer for. I know You give wisdom to all who ask, so please grant me discernment to make choices for my unique family and to walk in confidence as the mom You've made me to be. Thank You in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

"GOD'S Will Be Done"

I say this because I know what I am planning for you," says the LORD. "I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future. -Jeremiah 29:11 (NCV)

~As much as you want to plan your life, it has a way of surprising you with unexpected things that will make you happier than you originally planned. That's what you call GOD'S WILL. (InspiringChristianQuotes)

Prayer: Dear Heavenly FATHER, I have plans and desires, but more than that I pray Your WILL be done in my life. Embracing Your plans and lay down my own. Thank You in JESUS' Name, Amen.

"We Need To Stay Moldable"

“Then the word of the LORD came to me: 'O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter has done? declares the LORD. Behold, like the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.'" -Jeremiah 18:5-6 (ESV)

~Just like the children of Israel, we need to be shaped and formed as God sees best. We need to stay moldable as He works in our lives. And our willingness to yield to God starts with remembering we can trust Him because He loves us.
I don’t know what hard realities you’re facing right now. But I do know this: We can trust our God.
Our greatest disappointments and disillusionments, those things that shake us and break us and make us wonder about everything, don’t have to mean all hope is lost. We can place our lives fully in the hands of the Potter. We can trust He is making something glorious out of us. (Proverbs31Ministries)

Prayer: Father, I confess there are days I allow heartbreak and pain to cause me to doubt You. Please forgive me for all of the times I have tried to take control of my own life. I know You love me. I know You are for me. And I surrender every worry into Your loving and mighty hands. I trust You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

"Time Is A Precious Gift"”

Therefore see that you walk carefully [living life with honor, purpose, and courage; shunning those who tolerate and enable evil], not as the unwise, but as wise [sensible, intelligent, discerning people], making the very most of your time [on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence], because the days are [filled with] evil. -Ephesians 5:15-16 (Amplified Bible)

~The legacy we leave is not just in our possessions, but in the quality of our lives. The greatest waste in all of our earth, which cannot be recycled or reclaimed, is our waste of the time that GOD has given us each day. (Billy Graham)

Prayer: Dear Lord, please guide us in setting our priorities wisely. Help us to always place You first and each other second, recognizing that time is a precious gift. May we use it wisely, bringing glory to Your name. Thank You, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
