In the Upper Room, everything changed.
It was here that the Last Supper took place—where Christ gave us the Eucharist and where the Church was born. It is also where the disciples gathered again, united in prayer, waiting for the promise of the Father.
At the heart of this sacred moment was Mary—the Mother who witnessed it all. Her presence during Pentecost reminds us that she is truly the Mother of the Church, the one who gathers, unifies, and leads us closer to Christ. As Scripture tells us (Acts 1:13–14), she was there among the Apostles—praying, waiting, believing.

Mary knows worry. She knows waiting.
She knows what it means to carry love and fear in the same heart, to trust God when answers don’t come right away.
That is why she comes to us like a true mother—gentle, attentive, and close. Mary understands our anxieties, our silent tears, and the hopes we protect so carefully. She consoles us as a mother would, drawing us near and reminding us that we are deeply loved, especially in moments when we feel weakest.
On this Mother’s Day, we turn to Mary as our Mother, grateful for her constant intercession and tender care—and we give thanks for all mothers whose love reflects her own.

A Prayer for Mothers
Loving God,
We thank You for the gift of mothers—
for their patience, their sacrifices, and their quiet strength.
Bless them with peace when they are weary.
with joy when their hearts are full,
and with comfort when they carry concerns for their children.
May Mary, our Mother, watch over them.
intercede for them,
and wrap them in her gentle love.
Grant all mothers renewed hope and strength today.
and reward them for the love they so freely give.

For every early morning and late night,
for hands worn by service and hearts that keep showing up—
St. Joseph reminds us that no honest work is ever small.
He labored quietly, faithfully, trusting that God was present
in the ordinary, the tiring, the unseen.
May we find strength in his example.
purpose in our daily tasks,
and hope knowing that our work, when done with love,
builds more than results—it builds souls.
Keep going. God is at work with you.
