On October 27, 2023, a significant milestone was celebrated in our Diocese. The inaugural Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing for Ecology occurred at Saint Maximilian Mary Kolbe Parish. The MOA was inked between the Our Lady of Mercy Vicariate, led by Rev. Fr. Ralph Mestosamente, and BEST (Basic Environmental Systems & Technologies, Inc.), represented by Mr. Lester Mateo, Operations Manager. Co-signing alongside Fr. Ralph was Rev. Fr. John Nathan Ma. Maagma, OFM Conventual, the Priest Coordinator of the Ministry of Ecology of the Diocese of Novaliches and the parish priest of Saint Maximilian Mary Kolbe. Present to witness the MOA Signing and extend a warm welcome to our guests were Kuya W***y Agito, PPC President, Tita Paulina Andal, PFC Chairwoman, and BEC Coordinators led by Tita Baby Hernando, the BEC Lay Coordinator of Saint Maximilian. The event was hosted by our Lay Ecology Coordinator for the Diocese, Br. Glenn Velasco, MI.

This marks a pivotal step towards realizing the Ecology initiatives and projects of the Diocese of Novaliches. The objective is to promote waste segregation and sustainability through urban farming among the faithful, a vision launched during the BEC Ecology Big Day. This endeavor is a collaborative effort between the Commission on BEC Development, led by Rev. Fr. Alvin Lopez, and the Ministry of Ecology, led by Rev. Fr. John Nathan Ma. Maagma, OFM Conventual.

John Nathan Ma. Maagma, OFM Conventual, Priest Coordinator, at St. Maximilian Mary Kolbe parish. A milestone for our Diocese in its programs for Ecology.

Third Batch of Pictures. The Trash to Cashback and Tindahan Extra Mile programs were launched at Saint Francis Xavier Parish (SFXP), a collaboration between Basic Environment Systems Technologies (BEST) and the BEC and Ecology Ministries of SFXP. Rev. Fr. Simone Piccolo, SX (SFXP's parish priest) emphasized environmental conservation in his opening remarks, and Rev. Fr. John Nathan Ma. Maagma, OFM Convenutal (Priest Coordinator of the Ministry of Ecology of the Diocese of Novaliches) highlighted waste management and sustainability during his address to the participants. Parish coordinators and Xavier School representatives participated, resulting in 47 registrants and a successful launch. Congratulations to Saint Francis Xavier Parish, with hopes for more ecological initiatives in the future.
