Topic: WALKING IN DOMINION OVER THE ENEMY II
Taking Possession of What Christ Has Already Given You
Bishop Fernando Lee
Luke 10:19
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
This message reminds us that God has given every believer authority over the works of the enemy. Through Jesus Christ, we have been given the power to overcome darkness, resist evil, and walk in victory. Dominion is not something we can earn, it is part of the inheritance Christ restored to us through His death and resurrection.
From the beginning, God intended mankind to have dominion over the earth. Although humanity lost that authority through sin, Jesus restored it. Many believers know they are saved and forgiven, yet few truly walk in the authority and dominion God has given them. We are not called to live defeated lives but to represent the Kingdom of God with boldness and faith.
One of the enemy’s greatest strategies is to convince believers that they have no authority. However, Jesus did not save us merely to escape hell. He saved us to represent His Kingdom and His power on earth.
1. Dominion Begins with Submission to God
James 4:7
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
True authority comes from being under God's authority. Many people desire power without obedience, but dominion starts with surrender. Authority without holiness is dangerous, and power without submission can lead to pride. Before we can exercise dominion publicly, we must first submit ourselves completely to God.
2. Dominion Requires a Renewed Mind
Many believers remain trapped because they continue to think like victims instead of victors. We cannot walk in dominion while carrying a victim mentality or a poverty mindset. God's Word teaches us to renew our minds and embrace the identity He has given us. The enemy often attacks our identity before attacking our destiny, so we must continually remind ourselves that God has given us authority and victory through Christ.
3. Dominion Is Exercised Through Faith
Faith is the currency of the Kingdom of God. David exercised dominion over Goliath before he ever held the giant's sword because he believed God's promise. Faith does not ignore reality, but it declares God's authority over every situation. No matter how great the challenge may seem, we can trust that God is greater and that He will never leave nor forsake His people.
Hebrews 11:32-34 reminds us that through faith, God's people overcame impossible situations and experienced His power.
4. Dominion Exists to Advance God's Kingdom
Dominion is not about controlling people but about demonstrating God's rule through our lives. Jesus had all authority, yet He chose to serve others. True Kingdom dominion is servant leadership. The greatest person in God's Kingdom is not the one who controls others but the one who fully surrenders to God.
Matthew 16:19 teaches that God has given believers authority to bind and loose according to His will. He empowers us to act in faith, knowing that Heaven supports what aligns with His purposes. God desires His people to exercise their spiritual authority and advance His Kingdom on earth.
Matthew 6:10
“Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
As believers, we are not called to be intimidated by darkness. We are called to be the light. We are not called to retreat in fear but to advance in faith. Some believers continue to struggle because they have allowed the enemy to occupy areas of their lives that should belong to God. Today is the day to take back what the enemy has stolen.
Joshua 1:3 reminds us that God has already prepared territory for His people to possess. We must step forward in faith and claim the promises He has given us.
In closing, Jesus Christ has already won the victory through His death and resurrection. Dominion is not merely a promise, it is a present reality for every believer who is submitted to God, filled with faith, clothed in righteousness, and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Walk in it. Believe it. Possess it.
Authority unused is authority wasted.
God bless po!
