In life's toughest moments, we may question why things happen instead of how we want them to. Often, we hide our true feelings from the Creator and turn away when we don't understand His actions, forgetting that we're the ones who turned away first.
Take Ruth's story as encouragement. When Naomi and Orpah faced loss, Ruth chose to hold on. Our experiences shape us, but like Ruth, we can choose to hold onto our faith. While Orpah left, Ruth stayed. Ruth's faith in Naomi's God never wavered, and in the end, she was blessed for pressing on, even when the prize wasn't clear.
