As we culminate this month-long devotion to our Blessed Mother, may we continue to imitate the humility, obedience, and loving heart of Mama Mary. Through every prayer, offering, and flower laid before her, we are reminded that true devotion leads us closer to Christ.

Witness the vibrant spirit, dedication, and heart of the OLLP - Pulupandan Youth Ministry Festival Dancers as they brought the stage to life during DagYoung 2026 at the Pulupandan Grandstand last May 22, 2026.

More than a presentation, every performance became a celebration of faith, culture, teamwork, and passion. Behind every graceful movement and powerful routine were days of preparation, silent sacrifices, exhausting practices, and young hearts united in one purpose, to glorify God through their talents.

This journey would not have been possible without the prayers, guidance, love, and endless support from everyone who stood beside our youth from beginning to end. Every cheer, every smile, and every achievement became part of a story that the entire community now shares with pride.

As the music fades and the lights dim, may this moment remain a reminder that when young people offer their gifts with sincerity and faith, beautiful things happen.

Experience the harmony, faith and passion that filled the stage as the Chorale Choir of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish offered not just a performance, but a prayer through music during DagYoung 2026 held at the Pulupandan Grandstand last May 22, 2026.

Behind every note were countless rehearsals, sacrifices, nervous hearts, and unwavering dedication from young people united by one mission: to serve God through their gifts. This piece is a reminder that when voices sing with faith, hearts are touched and souls are inspired.

To everyone who supported, prayed, guided, and believed in our youth, thank you for walking with us throughout this journey. This milestone belongs not only to the choir, but to the entire community who became part of this beautiful story.

Above all, may every applause and recognition always lead back to the One who made all things possible.

Today, we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles โ€” the birth of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. May the same Spirit continue to guide us in faith, strengthen us in unity, and ignite our hearts with love and courage to proclaim Christ to the world. โœจ

Happy Birthday, Catholic Church!

23/05/2026

The word Pentecost is Greek and it means "50th day." Fifty days after Easter Sunday, we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and their followers, and the beginning of their Earthly ministry to make disciples of all nations.
Pentecost is also a Jewish holiday, which the Jews use to celebrate the end of Passover. Jews celebrate the gift of the law to Moses at Mt. Sinai on this day. But we, as Catholics celebrate the birth of our Church.
At Pentecost, the Apostles and their followers were gathered in a room. Jews from all over the world were gathered with Peter, the leader of the Apostles and the Eleven. At this time, a great wind blew and a flame appeared as a tongue of fire, which split itself into many individual flames above the heads of all those present. The Holy Spirit came upon these people and each began to speak in tongues. Despite the fact many had no common language, they were perfectly able to understand one another.
Others who were not so blessed, accused those speaking in tongues of being drunk, but Peter arose and addressed the crowd, explaining that it was only 9 o'clock, and that this phenomenon was not intoxication, but rather this was the work of the Holy Spirit, prophesized in the scripture.
Peter then called all those present to be baptized and about three thousand people were baptized that day.

These people were among the first Catholics, and Peter is the first pope of the Catholic Church.

Happy Pentecost Sunday

Today, the Church celebrates the glorious feast of Pentecostโ€”the day the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles like tongues of fire and filled them with courage, wisdom, and zeal. Pentecost is often called the โ€œBirthday of the Churchโ€ because it marks the moment when the Apostles boldly went forth to proclaim the Gospel of Christ to the world.

Before Pentecost, the disciples were afraid, hiding behind locked doors after the death and resurrection of Jesus. But when the Holy Spirit came upon them, everything changed. Fear became courage. Doubt became faith. Silence became proclamation. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, ordinary men became fearless witnesses of Christ.

That same Holy Spirit continues to move in our lives today. He strengthens us when we are weak, comforts us in sorrow, guides us in confusion, and renews our hearts when we grow weary in faith. Pentecost reminds us that we are never alone because God Himself dwells within us.

As we wear red on this sacred feast, we remember the fire of the Holy Spiritโ€”the fire of divine love that purifies, transforms, and sends us on mission. The world today needs people filled not with hatred, pride, and division, but with the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

May this Pentecost renew our hearts and awaken our souls once again. Let us open ourselves to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to lead us closer to Christ. May He set our hearts on fire with holiness and give us the courage to live our Catholic faith boldly and faithfully.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Your love. ๐Ÿ”ฅ
