During a Eucharistic Celebration, the smoke emitted by the incense burnt in the thurible is no mere decoration, but a symbol of the accumulated prayers of the faithful rising towards God (Psalms 141:2).
However, the current thurible of the Chapel is no longer suitable for use, as its chain must be mended before the celebration of the Holy Mass. Furthermore, the usage of such dilapidated thurible might cause unwanted harm to the thurifer, the priest, or the parishioners.
This, in turn, led our esteemed altar servers to launch a donation drive, seeking financial assistance from select residents in Dampol 2nd A.
While the donation drive has already enabled the Ministry to address the urgent need for a new thurible, the project is not yet complete. The next goal is the acquisition of a set of candelabra to further enhance the dignity and solemnity of our liturgical celebrations. In this regard, we humbly ask for your continued prayers and support. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help us fulfill this mission and better serve our parish community.
MAS-D2A Barrio Coordinator, Bro. Sean Iniego Dela Cruz, spearheaded this initiative on behalf of St. Joseph Chapel's Ministry of Altar Servers and Sub-Parish Pastoral Council.
