Join us for the Santacruzan and Flores de Mayo Procession this Saturday, May 30!

Santacruzan is a religious-historical procession that commemorates the finding of the Holy Cross by Queen Helena (Reyna Elena) and her son, Emperor Constantine.

Since our parish combines this with Flores de Mayo, the procession flows beautifully from our deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary toward the ultimate triumph of the Cross.

IMPORTANT NOTICE ON MASS SCHEDULE:
𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗡𝗢 𝟰:𝟬𝟬 𝗣𝗠 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆.
The Holy Mass will be celebrated immediately after the procession at the Cathedral.

REMINDERS FOR ATTENDEES:
Dress Code: Please wear modest and appropriate church attire.
What to Bring: Bring your rosaries, and weather protection (umbrellas and water).
Safety First: Follow the marshals along the route for a safe and orderly procession.

The Magnificat Children's Choir gather in praise at the 4:00pm Anticipated Mass (Mass for Children) in celebration of Pentecost Sunday, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Edmond Herher.

With thanksgiving, the children choir also celebrates their first anniversary today, March 23, 2026.

Pentecost Sunday| May 24,2026

The Church celebrates with great joy and inspiration the glorious Solemnity of Pentecost Sunday on May 24, 2026.

Pentecost is derived from the Greek word “𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙚,” meaning “𝙛𝙞𝙛𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙩𝙝.” Pentecost occurs 50 days after the death and Resurrection of Christ, and after His Ascension into heaven.

Pentecost is the joyful outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity, upon the Apostles, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and some followers of Jesus gathered in the Upper Room. As proclaimed in the Acts of the Apostles (2:1–11), “𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳, 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮. Pentecost is the fulfillment of Christ’s promise to His Apostles when He told them, before ascending into heaven, to “𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘭𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘰𝘯 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩” (𝘓𝘶𝘬𝘦 24:49). 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘑𝘰𝘩𝘯 15:26: “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘺 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵, 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦, 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘪𝘯 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘵𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶.”

Pentecost is also referred to as the birthday of the Church. Filled with the Holy Spirit, Peter, the first pope, and the other apostles were empowered with courage, zeal, and faith to carry out the Great Commission when Christ instructed them to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Mt 28:19).

It is the Holy Spirit who equips the faithful for sanctification through the seven gifts, namely: wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel, fortitude, piety, and fear of the Lord.

Let us make it our daily prayer to seek the guidance and wisdom of the Holy Spirit in all our undertakings and decisions, so that we may act in accordance with the will of the Father, in Jesus’ name.

We are down to the final days of our beautiful month-long devotion!

Join us as we conclude this year’s Flores de Mayo at the Cathedral, running from 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟱 𝘁𝗼 𝟮𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗮𝘁 𝟰:𝟯𝟬 𝗣𝗠.

We are inviting all 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝟱 𝘁𝗼 𝟭𝟱 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗹𝗱 to take part in this sacred tradition. Let your little ones offer flowers to Blessed Virgin Mary alongside children from our different chapels.
