In just moments, lives changed forever.

A devastating flash flood swept through communities along the Nepalโ€“Tibet border on August 26, destroying homes, bridges, roads, power infrastructure, and entire riverside settlements.

At least 95 people have been reported dead, while hundreds remain missing, including hundreds of travelers and foreign nationals. Rescue teams are racing against time, but destroyed roads, dangerous river conditions, and difficult terrain are making the search incredibly challenging. (Reutersโ ๏ฟผ)

Families are waiting.
Loved ones are praying.
Communities are grieving.

And somewhere tonight, someone is still hoping to hear that the person they love is alive.

This is more than a headline. These are people. These are families. These are lives.

So pray.

Pray for those who are missing.
Pray for the families waiting for answers.
Pray for the injured and displaced.
Pray for the rescuers risking their lives.
Pray for Nepal.
Pray for Tibet.

Imagine youโ€™re holding a cup of coffee.

Someone suddenly bumps into youโ€”and coffee spills everywhere.

Why did the coffee spill?

Most of us would say, โ€œBecause someone bumped me.โ€

But the real answer is:

The coffee spilled because there was coffee inside the cup.

If there was water inside, water would have spilled.

If there was juice inside, juice would have spilled.

The impact didnโ€™t create what came out. It only revealed what was already inside.

And life works the same way.

When someone hurts you, disrespects you, betrays you, ignores you, or treats you badly, the pressure reveals what is already filling your heart.

If your heart is filled with anger, anger will spill.
If itโ€™s filled with hatred, hatred will spill.
If itโ€™s filled with bitterness, bitterness will spill.

But if your heart is filled with love, joy, peace, patience, and graceโ€”those are what will spill out.

So the question isnโ€™t always,
โ€œWho bumped me?โ€

Sometimes the better question is:

โ€œWhat is inside my cup?โ€

Because pressure doesnโ€™t determine what comes out of you.

Pressure reveals whatโ€™s already in you.

Thatโ€™s why Jesus said:

โ€œFor out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.โ€ โ€” Matthew 12:34

You canโ€™t control every person who will bump into you.

You canโ€™t control every offense.
You canโ€™t control every betrayal.
You canโ€™t control every difficult situation.

But you can choose what fills your heart.

So today, let God fill your cup.

Fill it with His Word.
Fill it with love.
Fill it with grace.
Fill it with peace.
Fill it with Jesus.

I donโ€™t need to win every debate.
I donโ€™t need to prove Iโ€™m smarter.
I donโ€™t need to have the loudest voice in the room.

I just want people to know Jesus.

Because arguments can make you right, but love can open a heart.
Winning a debate might earn applause, but winning a soul has eternal impact.

Jesus didnโ€™t call us to win arguments.
He called us to make disciples.
He called us to love people.
He called us to preach the Gospel.

So when someone disagrees with me, Iโ€™ll choose grace.
When someone attacks my faith, Iโ€™ll choose love.
When someone challenges what I believe, Iโ€™ll stand firmโ€”but I wonโ€™t lose my Christlike character.

I donโ€™t argue. I preach.
I donโ€™t attack. I love.
I donโ€™t fight people. I fight for souls.

Letโ€™s talk about something we sometimes ignore:
Our physical health.

Sometimes Christians think:

โ€œ๐ˆโ€™๐ฆ ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ข๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ฎ๐š๐ฅ. ๐ˆ ๐๐จ๐งโ€™๐ญ ๐ง๐ž๐ž๐ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐š๐›๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐›๐จ๐๐ฒ.โ€

But the Bible teaches us that our bodies matter.

1 Corinthians 6:19 says: โ€œYour body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within youโ€ฆโ€

Your body is a gift from God.

That means taking care of your physical health is part of stewardship.

We should never make physical appearance an idol. We should never become obsessed with our bodies.

But we also shouldnโ€™t neglect our bodies.

Thereโ€™s a difference between:

Taking care of your body and worshiping your body.

A ministry leader says:

โ€œI donโ€™t have time to exercise.โ€
โ€œI donโ€™t have time to sleep.โ€
โ€œI donโ€™t have time to eat properly.โ€
โ€œI donโ€™t have time to rest.โ€
โ€œI have to serve.โ€

But eventually their body says:
โ€œYou have to stop.โ€

Sometimes God doesnโ€™t stop us because we are doing something sinful.

Sometimes our body simply reaches its limit.

And if we continually ignore our health, we may eventually lose the ability to do the very things God called us to do.

This Sunday, we were reminded that Christianity is not simply about attending church, knowing Bible verses, following religious traditions, or looking good on the outside. Jesus said in John 3:3, โ€œ๐˜๐จ๐ฎ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐›๐ž ๐›๐จ๐ซ๐ง ๐š๐ ๐š๐ข๐ง.โ€

Being born again is more than religion, it is a personal encounter with Jesus that brings spiritual transformation. It means surrendering our lives to Christ, allowing the Holy Spirit to change our hearts, and choosing to walk in the light.

You can be religious without being transformed, but when you truly encounter Jesus, your life begins to changeโ€”your desires, priorities, choices, relationships, and direction.

Religion changes appearance. Jesus changes the heart. Church can introduce you to Jesus, but only Jesus can make you new.

Today, the question is not simply, โ€œDo I go to church?โ€

The deeper question is:
โ€œHave I truly been born again?โ€

Because Christianity is not just about practicing a religion.

Itโ€™s about experiencing new life in Christ. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ

โ€œYou must be born again.โ€ โ€” John 3:7

Not because we are afraidโ€”but because we recognize that our lives are in Godโ€™s hands.

You donโ€™t know what will happen on the road.
You donโ€™t know who you will encounter today.
You donโ€™t know what danger God may protect you from.

You donโ€™t know what situation youโ€™ll face at school, at work, or on your way home.

So PRAY.

โ€œCommit your way to the LORD; trust in Him, and He will act.โ€ โ€” Psalm 37:5

Students, pray before entering your classroom.
Workers, pray before entering your workplace.
Commuters, pray before you travel.
Parents, pray before your children leave the house.

And when you arrive safelyโ€”pray again and thank God.

Pray before you go.
Pray while you travel.
Pray when you arrive.

Sometimes the shortest prayerโ€”
โ€œLord, please guide me and keep me safe today.โ€
โ€”can remind us that we are never traveling alone.

Always pray.
