Pope Leo XIV has renewed the appointment of Bishop Socrates Mesiona, M.S.P., as a member of the Dicastery for Evangelization, specifically in the Section for First Evangelization and the New Particular Churches, for another five-year term.
The renewal was communicated through an official Vatican document issued in the name of the Holy Father. The decree confirms Bishop Mesionaโs continued service in one of the Roman Curiaโs key dicasteries responsible for supporting missionary activity and assisting newly established local Churches throughout the world.
The notification states that Bishop Mesiona has been โconfirmed for another quinquennium,โ the customary ecclesiastical term referring to a five-year appointment. The document further notes that the information is being formally conveyed to the bishop so that he may be duly informed and carry out his responsibilities accordingly.
The appointment was issued from the Vatican on May 25, 2026, and bears the authority of the Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin. (via K. Santos)
