The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church led by President Gladys de Castro proudly participated in this year's Pista Y' Ang Cagueban (Feast of the Forest)🌱💚

We joined this meaningful celebration because we understand its importance—not only for us today, but also for the environment and for the generations that will come after us. Every tree planted is a seed of hope, a gift to creation, and a testament to our shared responsibility to care for God's earth.

"The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it." — Psalm 24:1

Together, let us continue to be faithful stewards of God's creation. 🌳🙏

Pista Y' Ang Cagueban, which means "Feast of the Forest" in the Cuyunon language, was established as an initiative of the City Government of Puerto Princesa to promote forest conservation and reforestation. It was created to encourage the community—especially the youth—to participate in the annual tree-planting activities and to foster a deeper commitment to environmental stewardship. Over the years, it has become one of the city's most significant traditions, contributing to the planting of millions of trees and serving as a symbol of unity, responsibility, and love for nature. 🌳💚
