Keep Your Lamp Burning

Matthew 25:1–13

The question is not, “Do you have your lamp?” The question is, “Is your lamp still burning?”

Don't wait until the door of the Lord is closed before we start looking for His Word. Ngayon pa lang, let's keep our fire burning. Let's keep our prayer burning, and let's keep our lamp burning, because the bridegroom will be coming, and when He comes, there will be no more time to prepare.

The time to prepare is now.

Don't just look like you are ready, but be ready. Don't just carry the lamp, but keep it burning.

The wise virgins kept their lamps burning, and they still had extra oil. But the foolish virgins did not have any. And when the groom came to meet them, only the wise virgins entered with the groom.

Preparation is invisible until the moment of testing comes.

Just like us, pare-pareho tayong pumupunta sa church, pare-pareho tayong kumakanta, nagpupuri, at nananalangin. But when midnight comes, when problems come, when temptation, disappointment, and trials come, what is inside the lamp will be revealed.

Church, hear this: the door will not stay open forever.

While the Holy Spirit is still calling, return to God, because not everyone who is waiting is prepared.

Keep your lamp burning until Jesus comes.

Don't wait for tomorrow. Do it now. Because when the day comes and it is declared, “The bridegroom is here,” there will be no more time to prepare.

When that day comes, may your lamp be burning.

Keep your lamp burning. Keep your fire burning. Keep your prayer burning. And be ready when Jesus comes.

THE VOICE of TRUTH

John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

John 8:32
Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

“The voice of lies may speak but the voice of truth has the final word.”

5 VOICES

1. The voice of doubt vs. The voice of God’s promise

- Numbers 23:19
God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?
- Hebrews 10:23
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
- God’s delay is not God’s denial.
- We may not understand His timing, but we can trust His character.

2. The voice of fear vs. the voice of God’s presence

- Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
- Deuteronomy 31:8
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
- Fear says you are alone, Truth says “God is with you.”
- The presence of problems does not mean the absence of God.

3. The voice of inadequacy vs. the voice of God’s purpose

- Philippians 4:13
I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
- 2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
- God is not limited by your weakness.
- The question is not simply “Am I not enough?” but the question is “Am I worthy?”

4. The voice of condemnation vs. the voice of forgiveness

- Romans 8:1
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
- 1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
- “We are all sinners, failure”
- Your past may explain where you have been, but it does not have the authority to decide where God can take you.
- Failure is not an event and it does not have to become your identity.

5. The voice of defeat vs. the voice of victory

“Sometimes the problem is like Goliath — too big and too powerful”
“But the solution is as big as God.”

- 1 Samuel 17:47
All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.
- Romans 8:37
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
- 1 Corinthians 15:57
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
“The size of your battle does not determine the size of your God.”
“The battle may be difficult, but God has not surrendered His authority.”

How Can We Recognize the Voice of Truth?

1. The voice of truth agrees with God’s Word.
John 17:17
Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
2. The voice of truth leads us toward God.
John 10:27
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
3. The voice of truth may correct us, but it also gives hope.
Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

- Truth is not merely an idea.
- Truth is found in Jesus Christ.

Remember:

1. When doubt speaks, listen to God’s promise
2. When fear speaks, listen to God’s presence
3. When inadequacy speaks, listen to God’s purpose
4. When condemnation speaks, listen to God’s forgiveness
5. When defeat speaks, listen to God’s victory

- Micah 7:8
Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.

How Moses Built His Relationship to God?

Being a Christian is not just a religion. It is a continuous relationship. Just like Moses, may we grow in trust, obedience, submission, faith, and a patient connection with our Lord every single day.

When grace is all I have, grace becomes everything I need.

Sometimes God uses the weak instead of the strong. For those who are strong often trust in their own strength, but the weak learn to lean entirely on God. So sometimes, being weak is not a curse — it is an invitation to trust and depend on Him more.

There are seasons when heaven seems silent, when prayers remain unanswered, and God appears quiet. But remember — His silence is never His absence. He is still there, working, holding, and sustaining you. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep waiting.

Just as Peter walked on water as long as his eyes remained fixed on Jesus. But when he turned his gaze toward the wind and the waves, he became afraid and began to sink. Yet Jesus did not say, 'You are not worthy.' Instead, He reached out immediately and lifted Peter up from the water.

So if today you feel like you are drowning in trials and challenges — do not fear. The same God who saved Peter is the same God who will reach out and save you.

So when you have nothing left but His grace, remember, that is more than enough. His grace is sufficient. His strength is made perfect in weakness. And when grace is all I have, I discover that grace is all I will ever need."

As Christians, we must learn how to spend our time wisely. Time is short and truly a privilege, so we should not waste it. Instead, let us use every moment to pray, to read and meditate on God’s Word, and to praise and worship Him with all our hearts.
Here's how to use time wisely:

1. 🕒 Time Crafted by God

Psalm 139:16

Our days were written in His book before they came to be — every moment is designed by God.

2. 🙏 Humility in Use of Time

Proverbs 27:1

Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.

3. 📖 Wisdom in Time's Measure

Psalm 90:12

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
— Manage time wisely, read the Bible, devote more time to prayer.

4. ✨ Beauty in God's Time

Ecclesiastes 3:11

He has made everything beautiful in its time.
— God's timing is perfect. Our time on earth is part of God's plan.

5. 💎 Redeeming Time Well

Ephesians 5:15–16

Be very careful then how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity.
— Use time wisely. Spend it on something meaningful.

6. ☁️ Eternal Focus in Time

Colossians 3:2

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
— Focus on eternal value, not temporary concerns.

7. 🔄 Restore Lost Time

Joel 2:25

"I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten."
— God restores what has been lost.

"It is time to take serving God seriously."

8. 🤍 Faithful Time Ahead

1 Thessalonians 5:24

The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it.

9. ⏳ Waiting for Appointed Time

Habakkuk 2:3

For the revelation awaits an appointed time... though it linger, wait for it.
— Wait for God's perfect time. Be prayerful, faithful, and prepared while waiting.

10. ⚡ The Urgency of Time

1 Corinthians 7:29

"Our time is limited."
— Use your time wisely to worship God!

11. 🙌 Surrendered Time to God
Psalm 31:5
"Surrender your time to God, and let Him lead your days."
Remember:
Time is a gift... we must use it wisely.

Matthew 6:33

"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

26/07/2026

We can be present in every church service, know all the teachings, and never miss a gathering—yet our hearts are far from Him. Just like the elder son who never left home, we may do everything right, but we judge instead of love. Too many of us pray, serve, and give only because it is our obligation, not because we truly appreciate His goodness. We are inside His house, but we act like strangers who do not know His grace. Let us not make worship just a routine nor an obligation. We should worship God because He is worthy to be praised.
