Let us unite in prayer for peace in the Middle East. May God calm the violence, protect the innocent, and guide leaders toward reconciliation.

O Queen of Peace, sustain the weary and guide the hearts of leaders toward reconciliation. Through the intercession of Our Lady of the Pillar, may a lasting harmony finally dawn upon the Middle East.

Did you know the very first recorded apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary happened in 40 AD, while she was still living in Jerusalem?

St. James the Greater was preaching in Zaragoza, Spain, and was getting into deep despair. His mission seemed to be failing with almost no conversions. Exhausted and discouraged, he knelt by the Ebro River to pray—when suddenly the Mother of God bilocated across the sea to comfort him.

She appeared standing atop a pillar of jasper, holding a small wooden statue of herself. Handing it to him, she said: “This place will be my house and my pillar will be the foundation of faith.”

This single event makes Our Lady of the Pillar the first Marian apparition in history, and one of the greatest bilocation miracles ever. Her physical body remained in Jerusalem, yet she was fully present and tangible in Spain at the same time.

The same pillar and statue she gave St. James are still standing today in the majestic Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar in Zaragoza, the only church in the world founded by the Virgin Mary herself while she was alive on earth. It has been a beacon of faith for nearly 2,000 years.

Let us Pray:

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen

Our Lady of the Pillar, first to come to us and always watching over her children… pray for us! ❤️

"𝙄𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙙, 𝙢𝙮 𝙄𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙪𝙢𝙥𝙝"

Forty years ago, the People Power Revolution wasn't just a change in leadership; it was a profound moral awakening fueled by the power of prayer and unwavering unity.

As we commemorate this milestone, we remember how millions of Filipinos—armed not with weapons, but with rosaries and faith—stood their ground to restore democracy. In that historic moment, our nation chose.

Today, we unite in Sorsogon to honor the 40th Anniversary of the People Power Revolution and reaffirm our commitment to truth and accountability. Through the Trillion Peso March Movement, we transform our remembrance into a stand against modern corruption and the misuse of public funds. We shift our prayers from the pews to the streets, walking from the OLPS Grounds to the Sorsogon Cathedral as a living testament to the spirit of 1986. This milestone is a reminder that democracy is not a one-time event, but a continuous duty that every generation must protect. Let our gathering today be a powerful signal that the heart of the Filipino people remains vigilant, faithful, and Brave.

True change begins in the heart. Reflecting on the promise of Our Lady of Fatima, "In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph," we pray for that victory to manifest in our land today. May her intercession bring a swift end to the corruption, injustice, and hardships that weigh heavily on our people.

Let us reclaim the true spirit of "People Power"—one that is rooted in faith, guided by the light of truth, and steadfast in the pursuit of justice.

Our Lady of Fatima, Pray for us.

Nuestra Señora del Pilar de Sorsogon

The devotion to Our Lady of the Pillar became part of the history and culture of Pilar, Sorsogon. Finding Villa de Sto. Nino (former name of Pilar) and the nearby coastal village of Panlatuan hospitable places and ideals sites for an ”astillero” or shipyard during the Spanish era, it was developed as an important area of commerce and paved the way for increased commercial activities in the area, resulting in rapid population growth. On December 28,1859 the villages of Sto. Niño and Panlatuan including other adjoining smaller villagers formally petitioned for their separation to its parent town and it was granted on August 16,1861. A year later, the town's parish was established with Our Lady of Pillar as its titular patroness. The image of the Virgin donated by the very first gobernadorcillo, Don Sabas Melissa and was formally enthroned that same year. Numerous miracles were attributed through her intercession and her feast day is celebrated through the colorful Parau festival. On October 12, 2018, the image received the honor of Episcopal Coronation and her parish was be elevated to the status of a Diocesan Shrine simultaneously.
