This must be the most heartbreaking announcement we have to make. It is with deep sorrow that we inform you of the passing of our dearly beloved Dr. Anthony Velasco yesterday, December 25, 2024.
The whole COG Philippines mourns, not just as a church but, as a family. We all lost an intentional leader and mentor, a passionate shepherd and coach. Even more, we all lost a dear friend.
Yet, we believe he is now experiencing the "Heavenly Sound" he has always talked about as he worships our Almighty God in Heaven.
As he has reminded us in his last preaching during our Christmas Cantata, "WE POSSESS THAT LIGHT OF LIFE." With those words, and the LIFE and LEADERSHIP he has shared with us, let us take on the challenge of shining the LIGHT of JESUS that we possess and GLORIFY GOD in our lives.
At this moment, let us continue to pray for the entire Velasco family: Sis. Gigi Velasco, Ptr. AJ and Gianne Velasco, Denise, Abbey, and his granddaughters—Bella, Georgie, and Gwen. Now more than ever, let us unite in prayer and express our love for our dearest Pastor Anthony.
We'll meet you again soon, Pastor. But for now, please know that we miss you. 🤍
